  1. I'm re-posting this so Ted can find it easily. I too, thought McClain was dead. Lol.
  2. Lol. He's not that bad, is he?
  3. What did McClain say? I don't know.
  4. You know it Ted!!!! I had the good stuff!!! I also had a Mattell Vroom Bike! Not just the motor, the whole bike!!!!
  5. I was not active when Suns was banned. I never understood the hate that that kid received. Someday I hope to know what happened.
  6. Which reminds me of a story!!!!!!! I was about 7-8 years old and living in Louisville, Ky. My friends and I were running yard to yard playing war. We each had toy guns. I had a Man From Uncle Camera / Gun! Anyway, we all ran into my back yard creaming all types of things but primarily "BANG, BANG". I was yelling "SPLAT - SPLAT". My mom hung her head out of the side door and asked me what I am doing? Why was I yelling splat? "Mom, they are shooting bullets. I'm shooting s***."
  7. And Kimbrel is white. Something that never hurts in the Boston market. Few people will say this, though. Boston does prefer it's white pro athletes as heros. Also, Kimbrel seems to be articulate. That should help him in this market too.
  8. Excellent post.
  9. Nope. You and I are probably among the very few on this boards who listened to that game that night. I don't care about retiring his number. But clearly Dojji is far too young to have an understanding of what Tony C was to us who lived here back then. Imagine a healthy Rocco Baldelli and now add more speed and 35-40 HR power.
  10. One thing I will never understand fully is why Ben dismantled a decent rotation in 2014. He sent our #1 and #2 packing and got virtually nothing in return. I could see moving Peavey and Dubraunt (SP), but losing Lester and Lackey and not receiving fair or equal value in return was just f***ing nuts. I don't need to hear about Kelly's upside and cost or how Craig raked in St.Louis in years prior to injury. The Sox ended up with Porcello and so far he has done nothing of benefit. I don't buy that these were smart and prudent moves and that the players just under performed. It was bad deal making period. The consequence is that the Sox still have a lousy rotation even after snagging a really good number 1 in Price. Ben made a point of saying that there is more than one way to build a rotation. Too bad he did not use any of them.
  11. I suppose. But it could have been avoided if the Sox made an appropriate and timely offer to keep him. And she is no trophy.
  12. Could you elaborate on how he left Detroit in very bad shape please?
  13. I'm giving him a chance. So far he has done nothing that makes me scratch my head. My only gripe about him is that he looks like a sales manager at a car dealership with his circa 1974 Tommy Heinsohn attire. This is Boston. He looks out of place.
  14. Then the lazy among us can just type "DD".
  15. I always like Him.
  16. I have no idea if DD is done. Like yourself, I bet he has tried to unload both stiffs. I'm just glad he has not traded Betts, Bogey or Swihart!
  17. Damon had to make a move because the Sox were dragging their asses from what I remember. I have nothing against him other than the ridiculous implants his bimbo Wife has. And after the Jesus look he modeled in Boston he just looked stupid in New York with his hair cut. He had that rag arm but he remains one of the most exciting players I have ever seen play for the Sox. I loved watching him run full-tilt around the bases. I used to think that he was somewhat dimwitted. Then I discovered that he suffered from some speech pathology so I let him off the hook. It did suck to watch him play in NY. Clemens, as dominant as he was as a Red Sox, was a complete ass-hat of a human. f*** him. And f*** Boggs and the horse he rode in on.
  18. Unfortunately this is an understatement!
  19. So Rose has some Yoko Ono action going. Did not know that. She has a decidedly high center of gravity.
  20. I said that it is possibly just a PR move retiring Bogg's number. I did not say this was the case with other players.
  21. I don't hate Porcello. I have always liked him since he threw Youk to the ground! I was the one who predicted that the Sox would end up with Porcello ( and Masterson ). But he did have a suck season for the Sox. I expect better in 2016. I have never seen Leake pitch, I believe. I'd rather have the guy I know than have another questionable comp from the National League.
  22. Oh Cool. Now we can debate another dead horse subject.
  23. I am sort of Meh about this. I am surprised at the announcement. I think that it is just PR for the Sox. An attempt to have another feel good celebration at Fenway. I never really cared for Boggs the person from what I saw of him as a Red Sox. But he was a great contact hitter and he made himself into a GG 3rd baseman. He was kind of a puke but I enjoyed watching him play on my favorite team. Obviously Ted Williams was the best hitter in Sox history.
