  1. Look, I can attest to this. Look at the elastic waist band and how it is rolled over. That happens when a large stomach is inside it pushing it down and out. I bet he has fun tying his cleats.
  2. Interesting. I'm glad that you have posted this as I have all along maintained that Pablos real weight is kept confidential. Everyone seems to lie about their weight. That guys is way fat!!!!! He must be over 25% but we will never know. And really, what will come of all this? Nothing. The guy has a guaranteed contract for serious mullah and apparently no desire to be fit. Sox fans are stuck with this lump unless he becomes injured. I don't see him being benched if he does not put up career averages either. The Sox f***ed up.
  3. But now Hanley will be involved in much more action and has much more to think about. It's one thing to be able to field a ground ball. I worry about throws getting behind him either from the infielders or pick-offs from a pitcher. I worry about his ability to break to the bag and set up to receive the ball. I worry about position in relays from the outfield. Really, there are many things to worry about. I think that he has the talent to be serviceable at first. I have next to no confidence that he has the mental ability to do the job. The fact that so far in camp he has "declined" to take either early or late practice is worrisome as well. Napoli worked very hard to become a 1st baseman. Hanley shows no inclination to do anything of that nature. Plus this all keeps Travis Shaw off the field.
  4. Yes they were. Even if you put aside his weight issue his offensive numbers were is consistent decline the previous 3 years in SF. That , to me, was THE warning sign. Signing a player that is trending downward to a multi-year deal that pays him about twice as much as he had been receiving was a hideous move. Then ad in his age and weight and that deal was a REAL no brainer. As in no one with a Brain should have made that deal. Of course some would argue that there was no way to expect him to perform so poorly. Lol.
  5. I liked what Farrell had to say. He really belongs in player development. Just my opinion! It will be a shame to lose him if the Sox falter this season. He may not be the best choice for managing the Sox but losing a good baseball man weakens any team.
  6. Again, I agree with Jacko. But I understand what you mean too.
  7. These two guys have really dug holes for themselves. I think Hanley will continue to skate for the most part because we all know that he can be such an offensive weapon and that the DH spot awaits him. Pablo is in real trouble. His image started to slide when he dissed the Giants and their players on his way out the door. Texting while taking a dump during a game was not such a pleasant image for him. He sucked major donkey dicks both at third and at the plate and somehow seems to think that "It's baseball". "Just ups and downs". No you stupid fat f*** its Boston where you are one of the highest paid players and you have to cowboy up and produce. He will have to have a "HUGE" season to come back from the beating of his image that he so richly deserves.
  8. As an example, tonight on Comcast Sportsnet Hanley was being discussed. Lou Merloni said he watched Hanley "work" most of the day. He said Hanley has not taken early work or late work on 1st base play and has not done much other that hover around first catching throws from infielders. Not footwork, no positional practice, etc. Merloni was incensed. This is just one of about 7-8 such diatribes I saw today regarding the two suspects.
  9. Sorry Bud but I was thinking of starting a thread about how Pablo is being murdered by the media in the Boston area. Jacko is correct. Pablo f***ed up showing up to camp still looking porky and then making questionable comments in the locker room interview. In Boston we get to see all the Sports report on the news, and all the Sports re-cap type shows every evening and late at night. Then there are the fabulously dim radio talk shows. Without exception, they have all painted Pablo and to a slightly lesser degree Hanley in a very poor light. It's getting next to brutal. But it has been predictable.
  10. Lol Pedroia. https://www.facebook.com/csnmcadam/videos/789631897848388/
  11. Maybe. When you are a fat f*** like I have been at times, you can lose 10 - 20 lbs and not look any different. In fact, the only way I knew that I was losing was by my belt. A guy like Pablo needs to lose about 40 lbs before he will look noticeably thinner. I know from experience. And so do some of the other men on this board. To me, he looks to be at or around his 2015 spring training weight. Can he still be an effective player? I would hope so. However it should go without saying that the chances of seeing great play from him would be much better if he lopped off a s*** load of weight. Anyone who says otherwise has not been fat or obese. As a pedestrian I can tell you that being that fat effects every aspect of your life. Like putting on clothes and shoes, getting into and out of a car, going up and down stairs. It would seem logical, therefore, to assume that an athlete who is required to do so many strenuous activities would see some decline in ability. That's just the way that it works. Hopefully he won't suck as badly as in 2015.
  12. In the unlikely scenario that both Swihart and Vasquez absolutely rake up to the deadline then maybe trading Hannigan for another useful part could be justified. He's one of the best back-up catchers in the game so he does have value in both leagues. I like having him here and believe that he is needed.
  13. One of the videos shot yesterday at Ft. Myers showed Pablo fielding grounders at third. Shaw was standing to his left and alternating turns taking grounders. I found that encouraging.
  14. Well he could be ONLY 300. Could. I don't know his actual high it seems. Maybe his is Remy's size, lol. But Pablo is taller than me, his calves, quads, shoulders, neck, and squash are ALL BIGGER than the corresponding parts on my body. His belly looks proportionally like mine. It's moot. He is a fat f*** who does not care about being better no matter what the lazy f*** says. Another thing. If indeed does not get on a scale during the off season then he is is a f***ing dumb ass. I don't believe him. Semantics ********. The Sox wanted him to loose weight and he knew it. As it was with Dice-K, I will gladly drive this porker to Logan. See ya Biv.
  15. Where is Kimmi? We need some math computations here! I'm 5'7" and about 270. I look like this!!!!!! Pablo is what? 6'1" -6'2"? As I have said, his reported weight of 245 at the beginning of last season was very likely PR. This guy has reported to camp in about the same shape as last year, according to all I have read today. My educated guess is that he is currently about 325. Any honest fat person would agree, I believe. Yeah, I'm looking for better play from him this year. Not.
  16. I agree with all of this and I will ad that trading any of the three catchers would be a mistake. Especially so with Swihart.
  17. lulz
  18. McAdams reported it earlier today. The Sox said it was okay. Unless someone in his family is sick or something really important the f***ing stiff should be in camp. I realize that he showed up early and does not have to be there. But this is not what any fan wants to see. I want to see him diving on the ground and wiping the dirt off his bloated ass and ego. But it's okay for now because Ernie says they made some progress while he was there. Lol. Okay.
  19. I think it's cool that I saw him pitch so many times. I hope he is okay.
  20. So Hanley decided to go home to Miami for a few days. That's dedication for you.
  21. I don't think that we were thrilled but we were definitely "pleasantly surprised". It was cold as hell that day.
  22. No. If I was concerned or curious about her age I would just ask her.
  23. I think that 5-6 /115-125 after the 2013 season ended would have been a successful preemptive bid. What did Homer sign for ? 5/95? I don't think that would have gotten it done.
  24. I think that he started Talksox when he was only 17. I think that he is about 27 or 28 now.
  25. Based on his outstanding offensive numbers from the past four years! If he does surprise us with significantly better defense and offense it will be a truly pleasant surprise!!!!!
