  1. Sure. He's human, after all. I think that if Pablo had shown some humility and maybe contrition for his dismal 2015 season it is possible that Sox fans would not be all over his s***. But he did not seem to take responsibility with his comments last week. He has set himself up for a s*** load of criticism. Contrast him with Porcello, as an example. He was honest about his under performance last year. I don't hear anywhere near the ridicule of him.
  2. In my case Kimmi it's simple. I am depressed and don't give a f*** anymore. I am lazy and do not wish to endure the increase in pain that walking would require me to realize. That is to say that I can no longer exercise. Someone get me a big bottle of 5/325s and I'll give it a go. I'm a 60 year old man that has a debilitating injury. Pablo is a very well compensated 29 year old professional athlete. He is paid to excel at something that "normal" people can not do.
  3. Bu everyone knows E-Rod needs to improve. And most people expect him too.
  4. And that's a shame given that he cost 19 mil a year. Ouch.
  5. The entire affair is regrettable. If they wanted Hanley they should have signed him to play 3rd. I hope that he makes it here but I am doubtful. Have you seen all the video reports of his practices at first? Oye!
  6. 25 is not that much in my world. I can do that in 2-3 weeks of low carbing once I hit ketosis. I could drop 60 in 3-4 months if I was healthy. I really don't see why Pablo could not come into any spring with a new body so f*** him. I have no problem with Hanley's weight at all. I just don't see him doing all the extra stuff that would be of benefit in learning his new position. That is why I can't see him working out at 1st.
  7. Pablo should have hooked up with you and gone to the gym. You look outstanding. Which is one of the reasons I am justified in giving him s***. You don't have his resources or job. Yet you have found a way to remake your physique. f*** him and the door he floated in on.
  8. "War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing! Say it again."
  9. I just do not understand why a man who ascends to highest level in his chosen endeavor does not strive to be the best that he can be. He is lucky to be in the Majors and making so much money. He should be thankful and working to be better. He is not. That's on him.
  10. No Kimmi. It is not hatred. At least on my part, anyway. It is just an honest reaction to seeing two players being paid over 40 mil a year who act like they just don't care. Of course I want them to rebound and be productive this season. And of course I resent that they don't make the effort to be accountable for their bad performance. For about 3-4 years I have been hoping each season that Pedroia will rebound and be as productive as he had been before the onset of injuries. I am still hoping that he rakes this year. But he is much different from these two guys. He has been one of the best at his position and every year he goes out and plays hard. No one has any doubt about his commitment to being good. In a lesser market Hanley and Pablo can get away with this stuff. Not in Boston.
  11. Give them a chance? Like the chance they had last year? Or the chance they had in the off-season to become more fit and to learn how to play 1st base? Neither of these two guys have done or said anything this spring that has given fans encouragement. They are defiant in what they say or just smile and joke about any need to improve. This is easily seen any time either of them is on TV. They don't take their responsibility seriously. Or at best, not seriously enough. This all ads up to the Boston fans "negativity" I've seen this act before in this town. I seriously doubt that either of them ever succeeds in Boston.
  12. The negativity is understandable from the fans. Who wants to see the same failed players again this year? How about building a rotation that functions now? The Sox have dug a f***ing hole in this town. Even so, the fans, while negative, remain attentive. Imagine if it were another market where MLB was not such a large part of the local culture. Pro sports and pro sports reporting are big business here. The media plays to the fans. The Sox need to play winning baseball for the vibes to be more pleasant. Until then most of the negativity is warranted. That's just the way it is in this region.
  13. Two guys ideally suited for this market. Just bad business.
  14. http://www.csnne.com/boston-red-sox/merloni-hanley-not-practicing-same-intensity-others Lol. I guess Lou ain't buyin' it.
  15. Is Owens going to be in the rotation to start? If he does shine it will be because one of the stellar starters 2-5 have crapped out or got a boo boo. Maybe you are right! Castillo is closer to the verge of bust than star. If he produces consistently I will be pleased. I only said Kelly because he seemed to figure some things out late last year. He could easily suck balls.
  16. Or trade Pedroia and move Mookie to second!!!!
  17. For position players Swihart. For pitchers? Kelly.
  18. 80-86 wins.
  19. I suspect that the outfield will remain in flux through the bulk of the season. Of course that would all be settled if both Castillo and Bradley hit.
  20. This is something I wonder about for sure. Things could turn to s*** very quickly if they don't start well. We could be in for another lost season.
  21. Realistically Pablos' size is more like 2X or 3X depending on the fabric and design.
  22. Amen. I have no respect for him.He makes my skin crawl.
