  1. Nobody should ever be surprised if Roger Clemens says something stupid.
  2. This is also funny!!!!
  3. I'd say that Archer and then maybe Stroman are f***ing close.
  4. I think it's funny.
  5. Speaking as a fat f*** I can say with authority that 20 pounds on a man that over weight is negligible. Pablo is 40-60 pounds over weight. If he looses 40 or more I will be interested. Otherwise this is just fluff.
  6. Pablo has not earned any love from the Sox fan base. He did not live up to any expectations and did not do anything of note last year except go on-line while playing in a game. He has an uphill battle to gain any respect around Boston. Until he puts up some numbers, he is just another expensive mistake.
  7. Which reminds me of a story!!!!! I was traveling with my roommate to Nova Scotia on our motorcycles. We took a big shortcut by taking the Prince Of Fundy ferry from Portland to Yarmouth overnight. There was a buffet!!! My roomate was standing in front of me in line as we made a lap around the buffet table. The guy in front of my roommate kept backing into my roommate. Finally my friend had had enough of this s*** so he "stumbled" into the fat f***. The guys spilled all of his plated food all over himself. Not one of my best stories, to be sure. But it was notable at the time!
  8. Then WAR must be a very inaccurate predictor of performance. His offensive numbers were only decent and were in obvious decline for several years. The guy can hardly move laterally. I noticed that unfortunate fact watching him perform in the play offs. His left- right splits were f***ed before he was signed so I don't understand why anyone expected him to be a good switch hitter. Pal is correct, though. He was worth about 9-10 mil a year to the Giants. To the Sox? He doubled his pay overnight. This was an obvious bad move from the get go. I wish that he would tear an ACL so we could see Merrero or someone else who actually plays good D and has a chance of being better than this glob of s***. Really, if he goes on the DL he could participate in a hot dog eating contest or something better suited to his best skill. Eating.
  9. The rotation remains the most significant weakness on this team. There are other problems as well. This team will do well to finish several games over .500.
  10. I misspoke, I guess. I meant to say that Crawford brought those attributes to the team when he was signed. He did little with me while with the Sox. I have lost all respect for him.
  11. It's worse than Crawford. At least he still had speed and good defense.
  12. I doubt it!
  13. Welcome Zeke.
  14. This makes no sense as nowhere did I say that I despise the Twat nor have I been irrational. I do not believe that Hanley is a good fit for my team. Other than that, I have repeated what I have read. Obviously this must have been one of Ben's best moves.
  15. I don't hate Hanley and I am certainly not irrational about him. I am just going on what I have read about his fabled ability in the field with Miami and LA. I have never heard one single complementary word about his defense. Not one. No doubt that he could have been a good fielder. But he never was if what I have read can be believed. I never saw much of him until he went to LA and by then he was just lousy at SS. I think the core problem is that Hanley is a an immature twat who is egocentric to a flaw. He would do what he wanted to do regardless. I have no faith that he will emerge as a passable 1st baseman.
  16. Having grown up in a major league city I got to see many big name players. I too saw Mays, as well as Mantle. They were both way past their primes, however. Among more recent players Griffey Jr. seemed to be the clear best. I think that this would be very clear to more fans if they saw him play before the injuries hit him. He was scary good at every aspect of the game.
  17. I like food.
  18. That sounds funny but the problem is that we can all envision Hanley allowing a ton of throws from infielders and pitchers to somehow find the tarp. Anyone who really believes that after 10 years or so in MLB that Hanley is about to turn the corner in his career and become a competent defender is dreaming. This has disaster written all over it.
  19. The Politician that I would liked to have spoken to about baseball would have been Richard Nixon. He was a huge fan and very much up on baseball history and s***.
  20. Lol.
  21. While I can understand why the Sox have added this new mascot I will say that I am more like Red Auerbach in that I don't really care to see more of this s*** in baseball. Of course I believe that there should now be a section of the park rated "R". I miss the days when people would yell vulgarities during the game. It just added color to the experience.
  22. Welcome to Talksox Nikki.
