Well said.
Ortiz already has 25 doubles this year. If you watch you can see that he really hoofs it when he needs to. Can you imagine how sore his feet / etc. must be after every game? I have heard mention of all that he must go through to prepare for each game. The cumulative affect of all he does must make him uncomfortable ( to say the least ) most of his waking life. Chronic pain is no f***ing joke.
Upton is an overrated waste of time.
Shields is not what he used to be but at half his current contract might be a better option than the f***ing stiffs the Sox swear by.
I don't like the crooked cap but Rodney can still be good.
I think that DD is going to make a deal for someone who is not on the Talksox A list of suspects. Of course I have no idea whom that may be.
What exactly is the problem with Sonny Gray this year?
I respectfully disagree.
I'd add Swihart to that list.
People have lost sight of how big a talent Swihart is.
And I don't believe that a pitcher of sufficient quality will be available to warrant letting Swihart go.
No he did not say that. Oakland guaranteed he'd be a starter IIRC. The Sox brass had to know that they had s*** for a rotation. They chose to stay the course for whatever reasons. They added Price and viola, done!
I think many of us would have preferred the Sox take a flier on Hill as opposed to relying on Buch and Kelly to be stalwarts.
The problem is that Ortiz is having increasing difficulty running. His ankles, Achilles, and feet are shot. He wants out and I don't blame him. That s*** hurts. Especially when you can not escape the perpetual pain.
Nope. It's his choice to go and I support his choice.
My 24 year old Son came to visit the old man last night. He arrived just as Shaw was stepping into the box for what I believe was his last AB.
My Son is hardly a big fan of baseball but he does at least know the basics about the game.
Shaw went down on a called third strike that was wide by about the diameter of the ball.
My Son said" What the f*** was that? That was not a strike. Where is he going? Can't they do something about that?"
Bad called strikes f***-up the game for everyone.
On the bright side, Ross, Barnes, and even Hembree have all looked much better in a (so far) small sample.
Granted they are seen more as mid-relief but in a short series maybe they could provide enough?
