  1. Good call Moon. I invented a drink once. I called it a "Stalingrad Stinger". Stoli Vanil with Mountain Dew Code Red. Like drinking a cherry Popsicle!
  2. It's not like Swi was a clumsy f*** in left field. He was injured trying to make a great play. s*** happens.
  3. I agree with everything you said here Moon. It was a good trade. I just went to the store and turned on WEEI for the ride. The talking heads were lamenting that it was a bad trade because the Sox got nothing for Buch in return. They did not even mention the cap and dumping $13.5 mil.. What dumb f***s. Not like the informed and insightful bunch here at Talksox. Sometimes we disagree and argue stuff but at least we "cover all the bases" ( had to use that! ) while discussing the issues. I do worry a little about the quality and quantity of our rotation depth to start the season. But I am not going to lose any sleep over it. I like the salary flexibility and reset aspect. Things will be okay.
  4. lulz. It does.
  5. How do you figure that sk? Not being a wise-ass here. I just am not that familiar with this topic.
  6. Because there is none. You know this better than anyone else on this board. Now if someone in the Mets front office went into a coma or got some really good weed and would let Thor go I would jizz myself. Of course that will not happen.
  7. As the Ramones would say "Glad To See You Go". Really, as much as Buch drove me bananas through the years, I think the Sox just moved one of the strengths of the team. Rotation depth. Yeah, they can go out and get someone at the deadline if needed, but at what cost? Another true prospect? Or will another team take someone like the kid that we just got? Ah well, I like the cleared salary space. I'm with a700. Go get EE. It would not be smart and I doubt that it happens. But boy would it be in character for Dombrowski and his win now philosophy.
  8. A balanced approach and a big check book.
  9. My thoughts? First I would like an explanation of how FG has rated Pedrioa's base running so low? This, since you begin to justify your moves by stating that he is so poor a base runner. He's never been a burner or even really fast. But he has always seemed to be smart when on base. Of course there is no way for a lay person such as myself to counter such lofty experts as FG. What makes him so bad a base running?
  10. Atta boy.
  11. This topic is not worth fighting about. Dombrowki has made some expensive moves and not all of them have worked out ( yet ). I am far more concerned about Carson Smith being healthy enough to pitch anytime in 2017, Sales left arm and his laborious motion, and the exodus of scouts and or baseball opps people from the Sox. Immediately after the Sale trade DD stated that building the farm back up will be an important task. He knows what he has done and my guess is that he has a plan to deal with the fallout.
  12. No he did not. Not to my recollection, at least. a700 just voiced an opposing view and then it escalated into name calling. He is not at fault for starting the name calling or ********. He does stir the pot now and then. What is wrong with that? After all, it has been said that there is little else to discuss. Stop being defensive and pointing the finger.
  13. One name is yours. I get it. DD has done what Kimmi feared. The farm is somewhat depleted and there is legitimate concern for our prospect development pipeline. Still, the subject is minor and of little consequence now and of questionable magnitude going forward. Why keep saying the same stuff over and over and over again? It's boring and offers no ideas on how to right the problem at all.
  14. I acknowledge that I am a prime example of live fast and leave a pretty corpse!!!!!
  15. wut What strawman do you speak of exactly? There are several posters who keep lamenting the catastrophic damage done by DD and these people have beaten that tired topic to death. Very few posters have countered this misery fest because they simply think that it is foolish. Lighten up Brah.
  16. POTY nominee for sure.
  17. Yeah. Has he looked into getting the mole removed?
  18. Well said Hefe.
  19. Yeah and there is more than one way to build a rotation. That was a great concept!
  20. My only gripe with Ben was his unexplained disassembly of the rotation. Maybe the owners told him to get rid of Lester and Lackey? I don't think so. He f***ed up. Now we have three TOTR pitchers and some have a problem with that. Well, if Ben had held onto those two big chips I doubt very much he would have been gone. Blame DD for raping the farm all you want. This team had no big guns in the rotation and he addressed that weakness. If DD is at fault for having spent too much to acquire pitching then Ben should share some of the blame. Cause and effect.
  21. And what makes you so certain that it is wrong? Are you now an expert? If someone says to me that 2 plus 2 equals 5 I would suspect that they are f***ed in the head. I would say that Kimmi told me that 2 plus 2 equals 4 and she teaches math so I'm going with her on this. You just read a bunch of stuff written by others and adopt their opinion. They may be correct or they may be wrong. The same goes for you and your opinions and everyone else on this board.
  22. I would never label my business or service Steamer. Sounds like a load of s***.
  23. It sure does. There are very few "experts" who are right any of the time much less being spot on for 10 years. I'll just watch my team and enjoy the talent that we have and be thankful that Ben is gone. The putz.
