  1. I'm with you on this , Dojji. Not exactly the poster boy for ripped 5 tool players. We watched him make himself into a very good defensive player and an OBP guy with pop.
  2. Well with the way that Toronto and Baltimore are currently trending I can see winning the East by 10 games as possible. Not likely, but possible.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96AYjzcpOKE Here is the video of Youk at Eagle's Deli. He makes the scene at about 15:30 or so. Shirt , tie, and sunglasses. Maybe I'm not as old as I feel.
  4. You may be right. But I do distinctly remember that he had a dress shirt and nice slacks on. It was pretty funny how they sucked him into it when they realized who he was.
  5. Did anyone else here see the old episode of Man Vs. Food where Youk was at the Eagle Deli in Cleveland Circle while there was a challenge going? I believe that he white shirt and tie on and sunglasses on his bald head. H just sat there noshin away. Youk is one of my all-time favorite Sox players.
  6. Swihart's optimal value may be as a catcher but that supposes that a team needs a catcher more than a very athletic and speedy hitter at any other position. Unfortunately the Sox appear to not have that need.
  7. Maybe so but there who people believe that Brentz has MLB hitting tools.
  8. I would not trade Swihart roe a reliever. Not unless he was at least an Andrew Miller type.
  9. I keep saying this. I hope the Sox do not trade Swihart.
  10. I know that but I'm thinking that his agent or even Edwin himself simply f***ed up and misread the market. Whatever.
  11. Does Kimmi know who Cornbread is? I like the Bobby Heenan quote better. "Ham and egger".
  12. That seems surprising given that he had a 4/ $80 mil offer from the Jays. He'll be 37+ when this deal is done. Does he think that he can get back that $15 mil? But I'm glad for Tito anyway.
  13. I loved Wake but he did not have the 17 MPH variation on his Knuckler. Maybe the moisture has a more pronounced effect on the higher velocity pitches? I am referring to grip.
  14. Lol the bolded line. I don't care about the kid being irate. I agree with what you have said and I think Jacko is correct as well.
  15. I now at least three. Cashman, Theo, and of course Dombrowski. Edit. Duke as well.
  16. Lol. I think all of use has one of those stories! Mine involves Zombies and a toilet.
  17. I would blindly agree that he was the best Sox GM during my lifetime. Beyond that, I am not qualified to say and neither is anyone else here.
  18. I've done this with orange juice. Good idea. By the way, Stoli can be one of the best Vodkas that you can purchase. It is produced in three distilleries. You never know which one you will be getting but the ones made in the Moscow Kristall Distillery is the one to drink! If you ever see a vodka called "Staraya Moscva" BUY IT! Made in Kristall it is what I used to call the best $14. bottle of vodka available.
  19. Me too. But a team takes that chance in any trade, really. I hope that our rotation is REALLY healthy in 2017.
  20. lulz. Did one of you guys actually propose that?
  21. I really hope that you are right.
  22. A 10th round pick: Tobias, 24, has batted .301 (220-for-731) with a .362 on-base percentage in 188 minor league games since being selected by the Phillies in the 10th round of the 2015 June Draft. The switch-hitter earned South Atlantic League mid-season and postseason All-Star honors in 2016, batting .291 (143-for-491) with 31 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 69 RBI, 70 runs, and 10 stolen bases between Single-A Lakewood (93 games) and High-A Clearwater (34 games). He batted .331 (39-for-118) against left-handed pitchers last season, as well as .279 (104-for-373) versus right-handers. A native of Greensboro, NC, Tobias has made 164 starts at second base and five in left field in the minor leagues. He made his professional debut in 2015 with Short-A Williamsport, when he hit .321 (77-for-240) with an .837 OPS and was named a Short-Season All-Star by Baseball America. Tobias graduated in 2015 from the University of Florida, where he earned a bachelor's degree in geology. He was a two-time member of the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team and twice was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. He batted .301 in 213 career games with the Gators, including .355 in 2015.
  23. Bingo. The kid is a wicked good athlete with a MLB ready bat.
