  1. He'll be too nervous in front of the rabid hometown fans!
  2. Depends on how good your shoe game is. My grandfather in law was a HUGE Kiké fan, but he finally turned on him. Traded. Released. Anything. Just wants him gone. Kiké has been that bad.
  3. I think there's a vastly different conversation between QO and FA contract. Almost nobody wanted Wacha back.
  4. Same thing that happens to everyone around here: they slowly fade away.
  5. That sounds horrible.
  6. And brought back an oft forgotten Red Sox.
  7. I'm not sure he's any worse this year than he really was last year. Yeah, he's an old 28. He's always been a streaky guy. I don't actually believe he's very good. I do believe Dojji would love him though.
  8. We watch a boomer sport and talk about "advanced metrics" that are really just 4th grade math problems. I wouldn't throw that stone too hard. Also, you're old now. You could throw your back out with physical exertion like that.
  9. Since coming to Boston: 614 PA 16 HR 73 R 80 RBI 736 OPS 99 wRC+ I'd take that out of my minimum wage starting 2b hitting 8th/9th all day long. I know a former poster from Maine who would love this guy.
  10. He only has about 200 PA's left in his body this season before he needs to go into a Star Wars Bacta Tank until Spring Traning 2024. He's got one more year to run it back with us. Let's go!
  11. When you aren't a very good team, changing out the bench players doesn't matter.
  12. DFA Reyes who Cora refuses to use.
  13. I don't remember it that way. QO seemed like a smart decision for Nate as he was a strong bet to not take it, but if he did, the upside was a solid starting rotation option for one year. If you offered it to Wacha, there was a chance he'd take it and then underperform the 20M price tag considering his recent history.
  14. Duvall has been getting in game reps. He should be back soon. The next guy to go will be Reyes. Bigger decision will be if Story, Duvall and Arroyo are healthy at the same time. Valdez is hitting a little, but the OBP is below 300 and his defense is horrible. Would they send him back to AAA and get him to work on his defense or a new position? They moved him around a bit last season and I guess they didn't like what they saw elsewhere either.
  15. They have faith that Duran can be the 4th OFer and that Duvall will be back soon. They also have Abreu on the 40 man who could be better than Duran or Tapia.
  16. You'd have to ask Bloom. It hasn't been reported, but I heard that it was for more money than TEX offered. Maybe it was less AAV, but more years?
  17. People really forget what he did in '13 and '14 in the minors. '13 Low A 76 G, 895 OPS '13 High A 51 G, 965 OPS '14 AA 54 G, 994 OPS '14 AAA 45 G, 920 OPS Rafaela is NOT doing that. He's OLDER than Mookie was. He's now had 116 G at AA. He's currently hitting 716 for POR.
  18. He started off HOT! 590 OPS since 4/18 though. Battling through a wrist injury. We've seen that Xander before.
  19. Did I say Casas AND Rafaela for Lopez? I don't know if it would have taken that much as your previous post stated.
  20. It's because you should turn your radio down. Liverpool isn't nearly as profitable as WEEI would like you to believe. They say that because it leads to a narrative that Henry cares more about Liverpool than the Sox. Ask Liverpool fans how they feel about Henry. They really despise the guy!
  21. It wouldn't have been one for one, it would have been Rafaela PLUS others for Lopez or someone else. If you're going to trade an elite prospect, it needs to be for a top of the rotation guy. Lopez seems to at least be a #2.
  22. And they picked up his option years through 2024!
  23. If Liverpool was so profitable, why was Henry thinking of selling a portion of it recently?
  24. That was the prevailing theory. Marlins were looking to deal. Bloom was willing to risk the prospects taking a step backwards and his FA's going nowhere. I haven't been happy with any of his offseasons. His one successful year is largely due to his predecessor and the team getting hot in September.
  25. There are some good posts on here. You just have to wade through the garbage to find them.
