He has no RBI because the bottom of the order has typically had OPS guys under 600. Nobody is getting on in front of him. Story has had runners on (leads team with 72 runners on when he's at bat, which is why he has so many RBI).
If Anthony and Story had switched spots in the lineup in each game, the Sox would have scored more runs IMO. There'd be a big black hole at leadoff though.
The top of the order definitely needs that one extra guy. Even having Contreras as the best bat feels a little light. I think he's a great player, but more some of all parts.
Gasper and Delay both haven't done all that much with their MLB experience. If people believe in Narvaez's glove, you stick with him. If Wong is hitting, there isn't room for another catcher.
I think Contreras/Suarez/Gray were deals for high quality players. Oviedo was an upside play. Durbin was a musical chairs deal. Brewers were the last team available he could trade with.
But that's why it was "unrealistic." It's the same way people said over and over that trading Masa last offseason was unrealistic because Henry wouldn't eat that much salary.
Cheng has been hitting very poorly over the past 8 games (since hitting for the cycle). Call him up and he'll do even worse.
Arias has 5 HR's in his last 6 games. If you want a hot hand, you'd be calling the wrong guy up by bringing up Cheng.
