  1. I think if you are ok with "soon" being next year, you'll be happy. Mayer Drohan Rafaela Yorke Wikelman Hickey Guerrero These guys are all AA or higher this season and could be on the MLB roster next year at some point. 2025 could include at least partial years from guys like: Roman Anthony Kyle Teel Luis Perales Brainer Bonaci Chase Meidroth Blaze Jordan That's a lot of names. Some won't make it. Some should be traded. The pipeline is much closer than some people realize.
  2. That is true. I was just commenting on the stuff that came before it. The second Springs trade was not great!
  3. You shou[ld have QUOTE=A Red Sox fan named Hugh;1553362]My brain......it hurts. seen how I originally formatted the post...
  4. They know that because they have seen it before and still see it when he plays there now.
  5. Duran is a bad CFer. If Abreu or Rosier (???) is on the roster, they are playing defense instead of Yoshida and Duran is playing LF. Rafaela should be the CFer. Abreu is athletic enough to be a RFer in Fenway. He has a good arm.
  6. moon, he didn't play ANY OF until 2021. Initially, he was just an IFer. He is a good SS, but when they put him out at CF he had natural instincts and was a revelation. They know what his defense is at SS. They only put him there once a week to give him the reps just in case.
  7. Now, good players leaving to suck and bad players leaving to be good is much closer to irony. However, since there are exceptions, it's not really irony either.
  8. It's not irony. It's what we expect to happen when a player leaves.
  9. But that doesn't seem like a fun thing to do?
  10. The franchise is also OUT on him.
  11. He wasn't getting better playing against worst LHP in AAA. Why would he get better now?
  12. He can also play the OF in case of injury. We don't have enough depth there.
  13. Could have gotten a haul for him! He should have been the Sox AS rep this year.
  14. But why?
  15. He plays above average SS. He plays elite GG CF. Sox should keep him in CF.
  16. He played every non-double header game except for one while with WOO and that was him ramping up. That's pretty much fulltime especially on an Alex Cora roster.
  17. It's loser baseball to play a guy with a worse bat against left handed pitching just for shits and giggles. I guess some people are just playing for the future rather than trying to win now? Duran isn't a better defender than Refsnyder either.
  18. He has a 907 OPS against LHP. He needs to be playing somewhere every time a lefty is starting. If he's starting, at least one of the following has to sit: Yoshida, Duran, Verdugo, Turner, Duvall.
  19. Who is giddy? Who is saying that they are turning a corner and the season is looking better? They are playing the f***ing Royals. If they don't go 7-3 in this stretch, it's a disaster.
  20. Rodon: 27 IP, 6.01 xFIP, forearm injury, hamstring injury, out for the year? Paxton: 75 IP, 3.69 xFIP, 1.3 fWAR, potential QO offer at the end of the year?
  21. Crawford vs Singer RHP so Duran should be back in the lineup. Story's first game back too?
  22. And we don't know if Bloom's FO would have or not. Ownership controls the checkbook on the max dollar contracts for sure.
  23. A whole bunch of horrible moves in a row. Sox couldn't figure out Springs even though they were pumping him up on NESN as a future closer.
  24. Only issue is that the guys behind them are even worse or are younger and you don't want to add them to the 40 man this year.
