  1. Breslow's favorite song is "Lose Yourself." He better come out to it in the press conference.
  2. @pgammo Noone knew Craig Breslow better than Theo Epstein, who with Jed Hoyer moved him into the front office. Few in the game know Theo better than Sam Kennedy, best friends since first grade, and, since they remain in constant communication, knows Breslow fits in this job, ,org, market See, it's Theo part 2. Theo must have told them to hire Breslow when he was visiting Boston a few weeks ago!
  3. So Henry didn't tell Bloom if he could trade a prospect or not, so Bloom just decided to not trade prospects so he has no culpability for it and it's all Henry's fault for lack of communication?
  4. Sox should sign: Gray Montgomery Snell Nola That will probably put them over the CBT a little so they shouldn't sign Ohtani or anyone else.
  5. “Someday” doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
  6. Stories are noting that he will have “full autonomy.” Until fired in 4 years, right?
  7. Breslow is good friends with Andrew Bailey, who now has inside track on pitching coach gig.
  8. @IanCundall It will be interesting to see how Craig Breslow continues to evolve the Red Sox pitching dev program. He places a strong emphasis on maximizing velo & as of late Red Sox drafts haven’t featured that many hard throwers. That’s one area we could see a philosophical shift next year.
  9. The other “fire” threads began at hire date.
  10. What have we come up with for bad Breslow nicknames so far?
  11. From Speier: Sources: Red Sox offered Craig Breslow job as head of baseball operations
  12. Giants hired Melving. Tek stays in BOS for now.
  13. Maybe there'll be a nice dark horse candidate that we don't know about yet to gum up the works.
  14. The Red Sox had family considerations to worry about and could not move forward with Levine.
  15. Sox already have a SS and 2 decent defensive C's. I think Anthony has the best shot at an early callup.
  16. But what if he doesn't?!?!?! I was just conjecturing about possible movement at the top of the rankings, that's all.
  17. If Anthony starts off '24 hot, he'll be #1 in May or June. I would also say to watch out for Teel as he could leap ahead of Mayer too.
  18. Stats Masterson is legit.
  19. Is he legit enough of a candidate? He's never been a GM or worked in the office on a day to day basis.
  20. Bloom "didn't do badly" with the Diekman signing.
  21. The BUT was doing a lot of heavy lifting to justify the signing there...
  22. We talk about a lot of s*** that doesn't matter.
  23. I don't care about your cutoff, just that you were trying to justify the signing as good.
  24. @alexspeier Continuing to update the Red Sox search for a new head of baseball operations: Confirmed that Breslow has advanced in the process. Unknown if anyone else has. Multiple industry sources consider Breslow the favorite to get the job. Continuing to update this: At least one (and possibly more) internal Red Sox candidate is believed to remain in consideration in the team's search.
  25. Sorry, but Perez SUCKED while he was here. Diekman was terrible as well and trading him after the fact doesn't make it a better signing. Pillar was ok in a small sample, but was never good enough to bring back even at 3M last year. If they don't sign the dumb Paxton contract, they never go over the CBT in 2022.
