  1. If you covered his salary for the year, they still wouldn't sign him.
  2. Bauer isn't coming here. No chance.
  3. They need to, but they don't want to.
  4. Yeah, he was supposed to just be an innings eater, but was the only big get of the offseason. The rotation was still kind of a mess before he even went down with an injury. Most of us saw this as another punt by the ownership.
  5. He also switched teams twice for the first time in his career. It was a real crazy year for him and not a surprise that he struggled.
  6. I may need to follow up with his IG to make sure his love life is going well just to be sure.
  7. '25 is a player option for 19M. Giolito would be dumb to turn that down.
  8. Why wouldn't they pick up the '26 option for 14M?
  9. He may need a whole new skeleton after that no hitter!
  10. At best? Not too unreasonable. Bello 32/180 (on pace for 180 last season) Pivetta 32/180 (pitched 180 in '22) Crawford 32/160 (prorated based on starts 6/20 and on) Houck 25/125 (pretend that he's a little healthier) Whitlock 22/120 (would be professional high in innings, but doesn't seem too crazy if he can make it to 22 starts.
  11. He could give up homeruns on Jupiter where a ball is 2.5x its weight.
  12. See everyone, the esteemed Vinnie Boombatz found nothing! Rest assured that the starting rotation is in good hands.
  13. Paxton had a 2/10M contract. Giolito's is now 3/52.5 contract if the Sox pick up the '26 option (Gio not pitching 140 innings in '25).
  14. If they can get starting pitching prospects with upside, you jump on those trades. If O'Neillll gets hot, you start asking around. I think I'd be likely to keep Pivetta around at least until the deadline. If he's pitching great, maybe you talk about an extension.
  15. AA Opening Day is April 5th.
  16. +1 great season!
  17. Oh, so most likely the injury is new then? Not something from last year?
  18. As someone who espoused it as a potential cause, I never said it was the sole reason or the clear reason, just a potential reason. Still seems fair for me to say? Still seems fair for me to say that nobody on here was mentioning that there was potentially an underlying injury?
  19. No, going through a divorce is really easy mentally. I'm sure he was fine with it. Plus being sent off to two different teams when he had spent his whole career in Chicago.
  20. No, but I don't see Henry spending a lot of money on a team that has no chance to make the playoffs. I see him spending a little more just to get the team to not wreak some young arms.
  21. Can Henry afford insurance these days?
  22. He also ostensibly throws a ball in the offseason while working out. He knows there is an incentive to coming back stronger and making up for his poor performance last year. He could have injured himself at any point working out this offseason from overthrowing. It's not like pitchers only get hurt in games and then get put in a cryogenic freezer.
  23. No chance for Monty. Greater chance for a lesser buy low arm like Lorenzen or whoever to just get you through the year.
  24. He really just blew up his final two starts. 3 IP, 8 ER 6 IP, 5 ER The three prior starts were fine enough.
