Not all that many pitchers straight up ditch the 4 seamer altogether. We'll see what tweaks they can do with him.

I think Crag just needs to see these guys for himself unfortunately. We already know that Whitlock's body isn't suited for the rotation. Winckowski's stuff played up in the pen so I'd just leave him there.

We'll just have to see how the new regime values him. He did need the kick in the pants last year at the beginning of the season.

Clevinger pushes Houck to the pen. That's all. He's not much of an improvement over Kutter or Pivetta.

It'll take a lot of work from Bailey to get him there. His k/9 went from the 12's in MiLB to 7.6 last season. His whiff rate is low and he gets barreled. He keeps the ball on the ground, but currently looks more like Derek Lowe than a true top guy to me.

Pivetta after developing his sweeper in '23: 91.2 Inn 127 k 28 bb 3.14 ERA 2.93 xFIP Pivetta could be a third starter or better in the league, but he has never been able to put it all together. Maybe he turned a corner with the sweeper?

Why? What does Ben have to do with DD? Why could DD sign Price, but Ben couldn't sign Max? Isn't it still coming from the same bank account?

I'm higher on Kutter Crawford than most other posters and think he's much better than a #5. If he was wearing a Mariners cap in '23, posters would be looking to trade for him.

If they weren't going to sign Lester, they should have signed Scherzer. Waiting an additional offseason for Price didn't make sense.

Bello 1.6 fWAR Eovaldi 2.5 fWAR People believe Bello is a top of the rotation guy or at least has that ceiling. I'm not sure he does. Eovaldi is a nice #2 that can have short bursts pitching like a #1.

Are you really worried about the last 3 years of a 10 year deal for Seager? That's crazy. Semien will have become a FA that year leaving an additional 25M on the table for whatever Seager's dropoff is.

The FO has talked about Wink starting this offseason. If that's the case, there's reason to believe he'd get stretched out in AAA over the first few months as he hasn't been a starter in a while. Most likely, Mata is DFA'd and Wink is put back into the pen. The RF Acquisition isn't made and Abreu starts the season in BOS. Not sure what the plan is for backup 1B, but if they are just pinching pennies then Dalbec isn't the worst option as he can also play corner OF and 3B.
