In the movie, she's not selling the team, just using a clause in the lease she has with Cleveland that if attendance falls below a certain threshold that she'll move the team to Miami where they are sure to have great attendance.
They aren't selling the team. That makes no sense. The land around Fenway is too valuable. Henry is just not running the franchise properly. He still thinks he can run it like the 2002 A's and squeak out a WS every few years and maintain fan interest.
A's have had no problem sucking for a long time now. They would need to win the next 506 games to have an all time .500 record. It took a literal act of God for them to win their last World Series in '89. They only ever won one 5 or more game series while Beane was GM.

Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has declined the team’s invitation to be part of the April 9 Opening Day ceremonies at Fenway Park, a source with direct knowledge told the Globe.
What a snowflake.
He has great speed and learned to get a great jump on the ball last year. His arm is just pathetic though. Probably the worst arm the Sox have ever had.
I wish he was more of a base stealing threat, honestly. He is great at running the bases aggressively, but doesn't seem to have the instincts to rack up the SB's.
