    Urias - jail Woodruff - injury season German - I think I would go for it Greinke - would be a real 1990's Red Sox type move and kinda fun There's lots of other reclamation projects like Chirinos, Turnbull, Teheran but how much do their arms have left and is it worth it to put them in the rotation at the expense of the rest of the roster?

    Crawford 5 starts less than 4 innings, including 2 that were as a result of coming back from the bullpen Houck - 1 start less than 4 innings Pivetta - 0 starts less than 4 innings So we had 4 starts from that group less than 4 innings last year excluding the 2 noted above. Over the course of a full season they'd get 6 at most? One a month?

    IFA (hard to grade as there is limited exposure above FCL for most of these guys): '21 - B+ Bleis helps this class out a lot '22 - B- Top 2 signings are busts, but Garcia, Alcantara and Yuten may stick around '23 - B+ Cespedes seems like a good little player Other moves: '20 - C- Betts and deadline trades (Pivetta) '21 - B- Whitlock and Schwarber '22 - D Over the CBT (Abreu/Valdez) '23 - D+ Turner/Jansen/Martin/Duvall were acceptable but ultimately not enough to move the needle, other moves were not great

    No, it's better that the Sox have really high ticket prices, it's a pain in the ass to go to games and ownership DOESN'T reinvest back into the product!

    It doesn't mean you stop drafting. They drafted Deven Marrero and Michael Chavis as SS's in the 1st round and that didn't stop them from drafting more SS's.

    The draft is part of the problem! It's not the only reason for the problem though. 1. They haven't typically drafted starting pitchers in the first 3 rounds in the past decade. When they have done so, they have been horrible. 2. They haven't used the other draft capital to acquire other starters to supplement the MLB rotation. 3. They haven't been able to turn their pitchability guys into anything more than org pitchers like Walter that won't impact an MLB rotation. 4. They haven't acquired high priced FA's to lead their MLB rotation when available.

    I don't see him as a closer. He's really a middle reliever. He's fine. Probably this year's grass is greener candidate for some Sox fans.

    Because he was following an opener. That isn't the plan for 2024. Crag is trying to develop 12 starters instead. If you don't see the difference between a bulk reliever not being able to pick up 3-5 inning stints frequently with a normal rotation and a converted starter following a opener, I don't know what to tell you.

    Time will tell on Bloom's legacy, but if I was going to grade his drafts right now: '20 - B- short draft but overall the talent acquired was decent '21 - C+ aside from Mayer, the class is a little rough especially at the top '22 - C- aside from Anthony, the class is very rough missing on the 1st and 2nd pick '23 - B- Teel seems really good, unsure about the rest of the class right now
