    His launch angle, exit velo and bat speed data are fine. He's even hitting the ball in the air as much as last season. With Roman, it's just SSS. There isn't much difference between what he's doing in the box this season and what he did last year.

    I don't think the future outlook is all that different to be honest. Under Bloom, the offense looked great, but the pitching was a big mystery. Now, the pitching looks solid up and down the org and the offense has a few young pieces, but needs help. You keep saying things like "pompous" towards Brez, but that's not really the vibe I get from him. I know he's a Yalie and very book smart. I think he's probably more aloof than pompous. He's just not a personable guy. To let that deeply affect your Sox fandom is kind of wild to me. When the game is being played, I don't find myself worried about the suits behind the scenes all that much.

    Oh, I don't think they should either. I'm just saying it's a thing they may end up doing. Positional players are more prized on the trade market today as they are less volatile commodities. 2B Godbout SS Arias 3B Mayer Looks good to me. Maybe swap the positioning of Mayer and Godbout?

    1. DFA Watson. Add Tayron Guerrero and call him up. 2. Move Story to 2B. Move Mayer to SS. 3. Start Masa every game possible. 4. Kelly gets the Watson mop up role. 5. Weissert is NEVER brought in with runners on for the remainder of the year.

    I believe he SHOULD be in the starting lineup. I believe the Sox have no interest in putting him there so they should have just traded him in the offseason. They see him as a barrier to having a more versatile player on the roster.

    Contreras is a better hitter than Bregman was last season. He's more than an adequate replacement. The assumption was that they'd add another POWER bat. They went completely in the opposite direction of that by adding Durbin. If they added Eugenio Suarez to play 3b, the offense would still be struggling most likely. The fanbase may have been happier in the offseason, but they wouldn't be right now. Brez pivoted to the pitching and defense mode and that just hasn't really worked out. I don't think it's a great way to win consistently if you don't have solid bats up and down the lineup. Right now, there is too much variance offensively.

    Usually needs more than just 4 months. He has missed time in previous seasons and should be out for 12-18 due to the TJS.

    Durbin at least provides good defense. IKF and Story don't do anything for me. IKF just needs to be treated as a late inning defensive replacement. Not sure what to do about Story. Unfortunately, there aren't high minors replacements yet IMO.

    A 2b last night and two BB's the night before? Doesn't sound like the end of the world to me.
