  1. I'd have Whitlock dump his cutter. I think a sinker/slider/changeup combo is good enough for a reliever. If his body can't hold up to a starter's workload, just further develop those 3 pitches.
  2. He's still in Spring Training mode while the rest of the league is in midseason form.
  3. 94 games spread across 4 years. Part time players aren't going to get 1,000 PA's very quickly.
  4. If that happens, they may not be able to take Roman Anthony in the following year.
  5. A HS LHP throwing 91 in 2011 was not a bad get. The problem with him wasn't even velo, but the BB rate that exploded when he turned 23. He was still a good prospect at 22, but completely lost it.
  6. He's not a very good IFer when I've seen him. Maybe he can be a UTIL type?
  7. He's had a good start to the season, but needs to do it for a longer period of time and maybe reach AA before he has a lot of trade value. He hasn't pitched very well prior to this season.
  8. Cool, he's Rule 5 eligible this offseason. I'm not adding him. He's fallen behind other prospects and has had a string of middling seasons. He's not athletic. He doesn't have a lot of power. He's not a great fielder. His hit tool took a step backwards in the past few years.
  9. @TJStats Nico Kavadas has been one of the best hitters in AAA this season, posting a 195 wRC+ in 122 PA He has displayed a fantastic eye and power highlighted by his 18.0 BB% and 21.7 Barrel%. His contact metrics are lacking and is very patient, but he launches baseballs when he connects @JustinMLB 64% whiff on breaking balls @IanCundall His splits against velo are problematic also
  10. No clue.
  11. Duran CF, Abreu RF, Wong DH, Devers 3B, O’Neill LF, Smith 1B, Grissom 2B, McGuire C, Rafaela SS
  12. @SmittyOnMLB Pivetta vs. the Rays tonight. Arozarena is 7-for-19 (.368) with a homer, 2 doubles and 4 walks vs. Pivetta. Paredes is 4-for-10 (.400) with 3 homers and 3 walks. Harold Ramírez is 5-for-17 (.296) with a double and triple. Yandy Díaz is 6-for-21 (.286) with 3 doubles, 7 walks
  13. @MLBPipeline Miguel Bleis did a little bit of everything for the @salemredsox: HR 2B BB 2 SB The @RedSox No. 4 prospect has a .975 OPS in 10 May games. https://twitter.com/MLBPipeline/status/1790436264979702266
  14. You just run the risk of having a lefty 1B sitting on your 40 man who is behind both Casas and Masa. I agree that there could be a path to playing time, but he's forever on a 40 man once he's added.
  15. He's a righty. His k rate has gone way up this year, but he's only completed 5 innings once in 6 games this year. Probably gets a midseason promotion to Greenville. Not sure what the trade value is.
  16. Is he progressing? He's repeating AA and has worse numbers in 24 than 23.
  17. People have used that as an excuse and said that "well, they also went underslot so that they could go over in round 3." On the balance, Yorke and Jordan have been ok, but not great picks. That's just drafting though. They weren't completely busts right out of the gate, but they may not have MLB impact.
  18. Olivarez? No. Benitez? May pitch in BOS this year. Judice? Has not thrown a single in game pitch yet.
  19. If he can't cut it, he takes up another slot on the 40 man.
  20. It better not be since contracts are only going to get larger from here on out.
  21. Mussett doesn't even have a scouting report on SoxProspects.
  22. @RotoClegg David Sandlin was scratched before tonight’s start with some forearm tightness in warmups.
  23. That LHP: 848 OPSa vs LHB 770 OPSa vs RHB
