  1. Honestly, if he had all of 2024 at AA, then 1.5 months at AAA next season, he could be ready for BOS. It's the same timeline. The "big three" are already close enough that I don't think there's a reason to worry about the timing of the next promotion. More important that they continue on their development path.
  2. Mayer still struggles with offspeed stuff I believe and his OPS against LHP is gross. Still has work to do! Romero to AAA???
  3. minor league arms, 15-20 on a team's prospect list maybe In my initial response, I didn't say A 15-20 prospect.
  4. “I felt like I was hitting a lot of balls hard that were just getting caught,” said Yorke. “You see an outfielder usually run back on them and they’re running in and it’s like, ‘What do I have to do?’ Playing in a ballpark like Portland in April and May, it’s tough to get stuff going." Yorke (POR only) Home 569 OPS Away 836 OPS
  5. You said "low prospect." If they were trading for multiple arms as the post you quoted suggests, then yes.
  6. The GM wanted him to be the starting catcher. The manager disagreed and wanted to stick with Maldonado (0.4 bWAR vs Vaz 2.1 bWAR with Red Sox that year). The disagreement was part of a public dispute which in turn helped lead the GM out the door in the offseason. Owner was squashing trades and the manager was not playing acquired players. Click decided he wanted no part of Astros culture. After the trade, Vaz had 108 PA's, Maldonado had 114.
  7. That's not what I said, but ok.
  8. OPS Johanfran Garcia 959 at Salem 1256 away Jhostynxon Garcia 775 at Salem 958 away Zanetello 659 at Salem 982 away
  9. Bleis leaves Salem carrying a 16 game hit streak, 914 OPS in March. He should really tear the cover off the ball in Greenville as many batters struggle hitting in Salem (Bleis away OPS is 80 points higher).
  10. Promotion train keeps chugging along... @alexspeier Red Sox are promoting outfield prospect Miguel Bleis from Salem to Greenville
  11. I think it's lower for the others because they have to squeeze someone from each team onto the squad. That limits the types of pitchers that get put in the ASG. If the Sox were a wagon, they'd have more representation, but they are a .500 team. They'll probably have 2 players and that's it. If there's a third, it'll be Duran. Nobody else realistically has a shot.
  12. OAA 28th percentile Arm 10th percentile -1 Fielding Runs (-3 last year)
  13. I think they've offered him a contract and he's turned it down. He's either going to LA or back to tv for a little bit. He's going to get PAID if he takes a coaching gig.
  14. 1 - 7 Innings 1 ER 2 - 4 Innings 8 ER 3 - 7 Innings 2 ER Seems like just 1 bad game? Of course if we gave up 8 earned to the A's, we'd lose our minds. Would make sense if the Sox were a game above .500 though.
  15. For Vaz, we got two guys ranked in the 20's on another team's prospect list. They wanted a starting catcher as they headed towards a World Series push. There's no way Jansen gets a top 5 prospect. I'm very dubious Pivetta would either. If I'm the Sox, I'd rather take a 12 and a 14 from a team for Pivetta than get a 6 or 7.
  16. Houck is 34 innings away from matching his professional season high (all levels) for innings. It will be interesting to see how they manage him going forward. I'm not comfortable with him being the #1 until we can see him go 170 innings and not have an issue. He might hit that right before the ASB.
  17. Fans only vote for the starters and the 26th man or whatever. My post was in relation to all the guys that get selected purely on merit and not voting. (Online voting shows AVG, HR, RBI, OPS, Chance of All Star Game Appearance (ignoring future injury) Devers: 75% Houck: 95% Duran: 40% Slaten: 5% Wong: 5% Abreu: 1% Kutter: 0% Kenley: 0%
  18. Since returning to BOS at the end of May: 8 G 1096 OPS 222 BABIP 3 HR 8 RBI 5 R 3 K 2 BB Ride the hot streak for now.
  19. I couldn't figure it out either.
  20. Campbell was good at the start of the season. Got injured and fell off. He's been pitching great in AAA after rehabbing the injury. He'll be good if he gets the call again.
  21. Pivetta: minor league arms, 15-20 on a team's prospect list maybe. Jansen: less than Pivetta, maybe one arm or minor league everyday guy or young MLB reliever with upside.
  22. Also, Biggio is LHB.
  23. Biggio only has 1 MLB inning at SS. He's really a 2B/3B/corner OF.
  24. 393 OPS with WOO. H, BB, 2 K. A few lazy flyouts, weak groundball outs, 2 K's from a guy with a 7.67 k/9. The normal Masa experience. He's ready.
  25. Sox are very happy with the return they got for Verdugo at least (Fitts, Weissert, Judice).
