  1. -4 OAA at SS.
  2. I'd prefer Rafaela stick in CF too, but they don't have another decent SS to plug in defensively.
  3. A 5th OFer at 6AAV is too much $$$!
  4. They probably didn't. They just wanted him as filler while Refsnyder was out.
  5. Romy Gonzalez is the corresponding move for Bobby Dalbec being optioned, per @EdHand89 and @ChrisHenrique.
  6. Alexander has a no hit for WOO thru 6…
  7. You can check FanGraphs too.
  8. Seems fair for a guy who has never hit MLB pitching.
  9. More likely? Both come with injury issues at the moment. Mayer has the higher ceiling. Grissom is closer. Hard to really say.
  10. He should go to COL.
  11. In this situation, just move Mayer to 3B? Also, there's no confirmation that Grissom is a starter. Maybe Mayer is the 2B?
  12. The Sox are more fun when it has a few characters on it.
  13. @TJStats Tanner Houck had another great start, running his scoreless streak to 12.0 IP His E-W arsenal has been effective in limiting hard contact. His slider graded out well, which works in tandem with the rest of his arsenal to make him an effective ground ball pitcher. https://twitter.com/TJStats/status/1777094679399653401
  14. @gfstarr1 Manny Ramirez wants to get in the batter’s box at Fenway tomorrow. “I need 400 hits (to reach 3000)… and I think they need my bat!”
  15. SEA also played CLE (1st place) and MIL (playoff team last year, 6-2) A's played CLE (1st place) and DET (6-3) ANG played BAL (playoff team last year) and swept MIA
  16. Who picks the groceries?
  17. Wrong. Good teams LOSE to bad teams all the time. That the Sox went out to the West Coast and won 7 of 10 is a good thing. Last year's team wouldn't have come back 7-3. This year, the pitching looks better and the defense looked better prior to Story going down.
  18. @tylermilliken_ Reese McGuire’s numbers through 9 games: 26 PA .333/.385/.625/1.010 2 HR, 1 2B 8 RBI 187 wRC+ 0.4 fWAR Last season in 72 games, he finished with an 0.5 fWAR and had 16 total RBI. Reese almost matching his last year's fWAR in 10 games. I get the Reese's candy bar, if you read that name Reese's that's an apostrophe-S. Reese-apostrophe-S, on the end of that name. That means the candy bar is his, I didn't know that! Next time you're eating a Reese's candy bar and a guy name Reese comes by and says "Let me have that," you'd better hand it over. "I'm sorry, Reese, I didn't think I'd ever run into you! You're a f***in' bully, man! Let me at least have a piece!"
  19. Red Sox are now projected to go 82-80 per FanGraphs and have a higher playoff chance than the Jays. https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds
  20. AZ just went 1-5 against ATL/NY. C'mon man! Fix the damn rankings!
  21. So far, the Sox have been much better than they were last year. In 2023, they were just pathetic; ranked 30th in the league with -50 OAA. With Story going down, the defense is going to take a little bit of a hit again and Devers too since Devers relies on a strong SS to help his deficiencies. Sox clearly punted on 2B. Casas has been Casas. He can be better and really needs to be if he wants to get PAID. The Catching is what it is and McGuire seems much more healthy than he was last year when his defense slid a bit. No complaints about the OF rotation of Rafaela/O'Neilll/Duran/Abreu. @redsoxstats Duran in the first Red Sox player to qualify for the Outfielder Jump Leaderboard, and he's initially ranked 7th of 35 qualified. 14th/35 Reaction 3rd/35 Burst 10th/35 Route
  22. Good one! Counsell just got 5/40. Cora only makes 3M.
  23. @alexspeier As the Sox near their home opener, Cora was asked about last year’s struggles at Fenway. He said the team has struggled at home since ‘19 (with the exception of ‘21). Asked for a cause, he cited … bad pitching, bad defense, bad baserunning, bad hitting, and a lack of atmosphere. The GOAT stated that it's not an uncomfortable place to play for visitors anymore. That Sweet Caroline coming on when you're down by 7 "doesn't sound great." Because the draw of "Fenway" as a destination, it has a lot of visiting fans which takes away the homefield advantage. He said that changes when it gets to October, probably referencing '21. Fenway definitely isn't the advantage now that it probably felt like 20 years ago when things were running hot. Fan interest is bound to wax and wane, but ownership has done this team no favors since 2019.
