Winckowski is not a starter. I don't mind him being stretched out a little, but I don't want him throwing more than 3 innings out of the pen. They were fooling themselves if they thought he'd actually become a starter.
He wasn't sent down to be stretched out, he was sent down because he wasn't following Bailey's plan.
Bryce Rainer, SS, Harvard-Westlake HS, Studio City, Calif come on down!
What about switch pitcher Cijntje?
1. Not enough vowels in that name for it to be real.
2. Sox were pioneers in switch pitching having Greg Harris back in the day.
Or he goes to a field that doesn't allow him to have an 884 Home OPS considering how lefty friendly Fenway can be. Butterfly man could be impacted by the butterfly effect in a trade and perform worse elsewhere.
I think Sox are overloaded at LHB. If they needed to move a top level prospect, Mayer seemed like the best guy to move to me. I'd keep Teel and Anthony. Anthony has the highest ceiling. Teel has the highest floor.
Who is going to want oft injured Story AND unproductive Yoshida. Hard sell with those two. Easier to hold your nose and keep Story who can at least field competently.
Maybe we need to come up with a TalkSox tracker. My vote:
Anthony
Mayer
Teel
Campbell
Perales
Bleis
Cespedes
Fitts
Zanetello
Yorke
Arias
Meidroth
Sandlin
Rodriguez
Johanfran
Paulino
Castro
Lugo
Blaze

Reverse splits for batters aren't really a career long trend. Matt Duffy was known as a THE reverse split guy, but his splits trended towards even over his career (714/681). For Wong, it's most likely a blip in the map as it is with most MLB hitters. With MLB pitchers, reverse splits can be notable because of pitch mix.
I'm fine with trading Mayer. Hard to rely on Story for 2025 though. May need a good defensive SS to plop on the bench.
Need to figure out what to do with Yoshida too. Eat salary if necessary.
