  1. Kelly always seemed like one of the first guys up from WOO for the pen. He probably still needed some additional time, working back from the lost season last year. Joely is what he is: a 4.50+ ERA pitcher with a lower FIP. He's probably been a little unlucky this year, but he's not an amazing arm. He only had a preferred status due to his handedness.
  2. Sogard seems to have been this year's Ciriaco. He's back to hitting 609 in WOO. Good glove though.
  3. Sox have spent in the past. The question is: why let the well run dry know?
  4. He is still out there. No idea about the health of his knee. When he was healthy, he was a pretty good defender. Maybe the Sox soured on the relationship?
  5. There's no reason you have to keep him as closer. Make him earn the spot back.
  6. Mayer is good enough to field SS in MLB right now. His hit tool needs refinement against offspeed stuff. No reason to rush him when he's so valuable to the future of the org. Anthony could remain a CF for much of his career, but his athleticism would be a good fit for Fenway's RF. Teel is projected to be an average Catcher. He's probably better than Wong right now. He'll most likely wind up slightly above McGuire.
  7. He doesn't play SS.
  8. You can’t just make a second thread. WTH?
  9. I’d still want my batters to have the best chance to hit during a game which means hitting earlier in the order.
  10. Bibee vs LHB '23 2.86 FIP 1.09 WHIP 546 OPS vs RHB 4.09 FIP 1.29 WHIP 732 OPS
  11. You just like being disagreeable I think.
  12. The bullpen is 10th in IP. It's not great, but it's not the end of the world now that they carry an extra arm out there. The org has ok depth at reliever too.
  13. Breslow focused on fixing the starters and short term results look good. The bullpen is hit or miss and you kind of get that with bullpens.
  14. There isn't a difference between playing SS vs the RailRiders or Soto/Judge? Which ball is going to get to you first? They are the #1 team in the AL, so I referenced them.
  15. They had Devers and Duran as kids. Sometimes it's just a lack of ability. Not everyone can be a good defender.
  16. You don't think there's a difference between misplaying a ball in Scranton and misplaying a ball in the Bronx?
  17. The speed of the game (batted ball, quickness of players, decision making time), not the length of the game.
  18. His defense is not an upgrade though. -16 DRS the past 3 years. If he's not hitting, what's the point in bringing him in? He may be less valuable than Reyes because of his lack of utility.
  19. Right, they can't move Rafaela to SS until Refsnyder is back.
  20. It's his norm, but the game is faster at the MLB level. For this year, just leave him at one position IMO.
  21. “They are still young.” Duran is 27! Devers is 27! Valdez is 25! Dalbec is 28! These guys aren’t going to get much better no matter how much they practice.
  22. Sox could aquire a Chang-type for peanuts if they wanted.
  23. Injured, AAA for the Rays
  24. I’m fine with Rafaela at SS for the year. Abreu/Duran/O’Neilll/Refsnyder/Yoshida is enough for OF.
  25. And they have to extend second tier prospects because they let a HOF guy walk out the door.
