  1. Giants fans don't deserve nice things.
  2. As a pain pig myself, I'd love a game like that now. Need to make sure the umps are calling a very exact zone even if the game is out of reach too.
  3. Do overs? Injury insurance?
  4. 2nd highest ticket prices and not even a top 10 payroll. Sad that anyone would be ok with this.
  5. They are spending NOT ENOUGH. Henry has more money squirreled away that could help the ballclub.
  6. How many darts to I get and how many incorrect guesses?
  7. The new format makes more teams buyers than sellers in theory. If a team just below .500 thinks an addition or two can get them to the 3rd WC, they may now become a buyer. It has really turned the trade deadline into a massive sellers market.
  8. I'm not sure. I believe the PTBNL needs to be on a list agreed to at the time of the trade so maybe not?
  9. Roman Anthony won the Future Skills competition (scoring 91% of his points in the "swing for the fences" portion). Kyle Teel hit two doubles in the actual game.
  10. I don't know how Verdugo ever grades out well defensively because whenever I'm paying attention he looks average with a propensity to make bonehead plays. I don't get it.
  11. We were correct last season about Whitlock and Houck. This Spring, Houck showed off a revamped splitter which has helped get him through the lineup again and again. Whitlock also looked really great in the rotation early on, but his body just can't stay healthy. I don't know how he figured out to play defense. He was so bad a few years ago. Ok last season. He's been great this year. It just took him so long to get there and understand route running. Rafaela is still only hitting 691, 84 wRC+. That's worse than any JBJ year from 2015-20.
  12. There's actually no proof that he's tightfisted at all. He'll spend when it's time! There's a long history of him spending!
  13. I'm not saying it's impossible, just saying it's not surprising they are having a WS hangover.
  14. Not out of reach, but the Dodgers are still not an easy matchup in LA. Easiest way to get to 4-2 would be to sweep the lowly Rockies.
  15. Why? Isn't it more likely that the Astros just end up outlasting everyone else and winning that dumb division? The current 3rd WC spot is on pace for 90 wins. Don't think the Rangers can sneak in their with 84 this year.
  16. People have to complain about something when the team that was projected by most posters to be .500 or below is 11 games over 500 at the AS Break and currently holding a playoff spot. Yeah, they haven't lost a series since like May, we need to complain about something!!!
  17. Sox don't have many big power guys in the system. Good to get a guy that falls into your lap like that.
  18. You can't trade a drafted player until the offseason.
  19. The only guy in that rotation I'd be interest in is Eovaldi and he does come with injury risk.
  20. FWIW, Ian and Chris of SoxProspects said they'd grade Montgomery in the Bleis/Campbell tier and Montgomery just after Elmer Rodriguez.
  21. Sox drafted Braden Montgomery OF (switch hitter, power bat, big arm) and Payton Tole LHP (low 90's FB with lots of whiffage, average secondary stuff, big hoss type).
  22. Yorke is better than Valdez on D. Valdez is proven to be able to hit RHB at MLB level. We don't know what Yorke would hit in MLB. I think they had hoped for a Valdez/Yorke platoon at one point, but it took Yorke too long to progress.
  23. Verdugo is a perfect Yankee.
  24. So sad for Duggie!!!
  25. $20M would be year 3 ARB for mvp type player.
