    I'd give the edge to Slaten. Whitlock could be a nice bulk innings guy like he was a few years ago and manage his appearances. Martin would still be a setup guy IMO. Hendriks is most likely a middle reliever as his stuff isn't there anymore. Guerrero has been decent, but I'd let him grow into a setup role for now.

    Realistic View: I have no idea what the roster will look like next season. They just might run back virtually the same team as this year, but with Giolito.

    Mayer will not be on the Opening Day roster. He's further behind that the other big 4. Teel and Anthony have the inside track to making the roster out of ST IMO.

    "My worst fear for this offseason, which was hinted at by Craig Breslow in his most recent comments, is that the Red Sox are so confident in their young players that they feel they don't need to spend in free agency or aggressively pursue the trade market." That's been my fear going back to last offseason. John Henry is putting too much on these young players coming up. Not all of them will work out. Too many of them are offensive players. Watch his appearance at the end of Moneyball to see the future of the Sox. He wants the real estate empire and a cheap payroll. Unfortunately, that needle isn't so easy to thread. This year felt like another punt year going into it. I have a sinking feeling about next season already. I don't think there will be playoffs. I think there will be a lot of fun players to watch, but we're back to "wait 'til next year."

    He treats the Sox as a real estate venture now. As long as the baseball isn't killing the real estate portion, he doesn't care.

    I'm not so sure I'd even protect Jhostynxon. He's a good prospect, but didn't have really great success at AA. It's probably a year too early to protect him. I think a bigger concern is do they protect Monegro? Is there a team that looks at him and just stashes him in their pen? Castro, Blaze, Gambrell and the others don't get protected. Dobbins does.

    Jose Ramirez is currently at 38 2B/38 HR/40 SB. 40/40/40 has only been done once before.

The attendance per game is 3,000 less than it was in 2019 and earlier. Now, the seats are being filled with out of towners. Eventually, that will dry up too.

    Detmers could be a change of scenery guy who needs to ditch his horrible 4 seamer. Winckowski didn't buy into the Sox pitching strategy and should be on the chopping block. I think Detmers still has more value than Winck.

    Castillo is still a good pitcher, but he's not the guy he used to be if you look at Statcast and compare him to previous seasons. When he's away from Safeco, he becomes Kutter Crawford.

    I'm fine with the first two. Cardozo was RELEASED back in July. I think BTV does a pretty bad job with the MiLB valuations so I'll leave it at that. What is Gilbert's value? Is Duran's too low now considering he has more arb years left than Gilbert? No to the Campbell potpourri trade.

    I like a -50BTV for a Casas trade. Makes sense! Gilbert is better, but attaching Haniger's dead money is killing that trade for sure. Too bad that Gilbert's ERA jumped to 3.94 for away games in '24.

    The problem with moving Casas is that there isn't really an inhouse option for 1B unless they are planning on moving Devers over. If they do that, who becomes 3B? They don't have anyone that has taken fulltime reps there.

    Abreu, Arias and Bleis? That's a guy who put up 3.4 bWAR plus two top 10 prospects (albeit far away ones). Sox would have to deal Masa separately and eat a good portion of it, but that's fine with me. Sometimes, a sunk cost is a sunk cost.

    Jays would have to come down from their ask or the Sox will need to hope he makes it to FA. I do like his whiff and k rates!
