  1. Pivetta is coming off 2 straight good outings so we may see a clunker here.
  2. Whiff counts against the Red Sox should be at a discounted rate or something. Unfair to the other pitchers that are facing batters that know how to make contact.
  3. Fulmer is relief only at this point.
  4. I don't know about that. As an OFer with good defense and more years of control than Casas, Abreu would have a lot of value. 1b just ain't what they used to be.
  5. And that's the origin story of how I got jokerfied into becoming a John Henry yes-man...
  6. Not sure anyone would have guessed Kristian Campbell as the riser this year. Tolle is already ranked 13th, so I don't think he'd rise much higher even if he shoves early on. Romero could keep climbing the ladder if he stays healthy and mashes. It'll be interesting to see how Johanfran comes back after his injury and plays in Greenville. I'm going to stick with my man Monegro and say that he keeps putting it together and turns more people into believers and gets close to the top 10 next season as he heads towards AAA. Valera also could be the guy who goes from 20ish to top 10 depending on how he looks in full season ball similar to Luis Perales' progression from a few years ago. For outside the top 30, I'll go with Justin Gonzales as a guy who sneaks into the top 20 next year.
  7. Aside from Jared Carrabis, someone has to.
  8. I would never work with notin and moon!!! 😤
  9. I'm optimistic about the future. I don't see Rafaela at 2b though. That would be a pretty big waste of his talents.
  10. It took a while, but Arias is finally starting to hit outside of the FCL. Montgomery hasn't taken a professional AB yet so we will need to see that first. There was a lot of hype over Zanetello and now he's the 30th ranked propect and falling.
  11. Crawford gets bit by the longball as expected. Bernardino acts like a pig as expected. I think I'd be happy with him being elsewhere next year.
  12. This was really great. Looking forward to seeing him pitch next year!
  13. The problem is that Christopher Smith assumed that he was waiting an hour for Devers to speak to the media. He didn't communicate with anyone about it. Smith was just sitting there getting more and more annoyed and then was probably more upset when he got home and was too tired to help with his young kids in the morning the next day (obviously I'm reading into it a little and making assumptions based on what I now about him). Just poor communication on Smith's part IMO. Devers has never been that guy so I don't know why he needs to be all of a sudden.
  14. He's a better 2B than Valdez, but worse than everyone else we could put there.
  15. Mayer is hitting the same as Campbell?
  16. His hit tool is a throwback to a mid 80's astroturf team like the Astros or Cardinals. The only problem is those players could run a little bit and field a little bit too. Masa is just too limited as he's one of the slowest guys in the league and one of the worst defenders. He'll have hot stretches, but they don't ever last long enough to bring up his value for the whole season. Without decent pop to go with the OBP, there just isn't enough ceiling for him to stick as DH for a legitimate team. This is similar to the issue with guys like Meidroth and Riemer. Only difference there is that those guys aren't DH only and they won't have huge price tags like Masa.
  17. With Garver, he's typically unhealthy, unproductive or both.
  18. Campbell is their 2nd best prospect. Pass.
  19. Maybe? It's hard to say as he's only playing OF about a quarter of the time. He's only had 2 OF starts in AAA, which is even less than he was playing before.
  20. I'll take 3rd place over '20, '22 and '23 all day every day.
  21. https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/BOS/2024-schedule-scores.shtml 5, they did it three times.
  22. Fitts is a back of the rotation guy, but he has a skill that other back of the rotation Sox starters don't have: he can throw a lot of innings
  23. Abreu/Yoshida sitting against the LHP Casas probably should be in, but maybe they are going to start taking it easy on him down the stretch. No real split concerns with him.
  24. I hope all these good boys talk to this beat guy if they lose tonight and don't make him stay an extra hour!
  25. 18M, 4.73 FIP, 1.475 WHIP, 769 OPSa, 1.2 bWAR I wouldn't say flop, but it's slightly disappointing. It's his highest OPS in a season with over 60 innings pitched.
