  1. Probably should have blown each other. Only way to get ratings with that team.
  2. Coors is far and away Pivetta's worst place to play. Career: 1333 OPS, 246 tOPS+, 17.18 ERA, 7.1 IP, 14 ER, 2.455 WHIP He's just looking to add to that trend!
  3. @SoxProspects Our @SPChrisHatfield reports that per a team source, SS Marcelo Mayer, who is missing his second game in a row today, is day-to-day with pectoral soreness.
  4. He needed his sister to move in just to help pay the bills! Pretty despicable if you ask me!
  5. Wally is the nice guys finish last of mascots. He needs to start hanging around with some bad boys like Slugger.
  6. Package O'Neill and Grissom for Sale.
  7. Martin is injured so I don't think they are getting much out of him. McGuire and Refsnyder have zilch for trade value.
  8. Not sure Pivetta brings much back at this point. I'd probably keep him just to save innings even if the Sox were in sell mode (they aren't).
  9. Rengifo -5 DRS SS, -9 DRS 2B career That's the plan?
  10. @Buster_ESPN The deal that the Red Sox and Alex Cora have been discussing, first reported by Jeff Passan, is in th,e range of three years, $21.75m. It would be the second-highest salary for a manager, behind Craig Counsell's 5-year, $40m dea.
  11. If you can't block or frame, how are you getting the most out of your pitchers?
  12. If the defense is bringing the team down, is it any wonder? The team's part owner threw out advanced statistics in the offseason claiming that the Sox would have been a playoff team with an even average defense last year.
  13. Phillies Phanatic has a 4 wheeler. Wally does not have a 4 wheeler. If the Sox want to really be serious about winning at home, they need to get Wally a 4 wheeler.
  14. Maybe it's just YOUR word choice? I'd figure that a teacher would know that they are writing for the readers. Any confusion on the readers part is typically the fault of the author!
  15. I think O'Neill is ok in the OF. He has 3 DRS and doesn't seem to embarrass himself. Can play either LF or RF adequately. He's been a massive plus in the OF over his career. Refsnyder is just getting worse and worse as time moves on. He's a -4 DRS and really doesn't inspire any confidence in me. Really a LF only guy at this point. I know they tried him at 1b in ST, but it must have been a massive failure because they abandoned that quickly.
  16. @JeffPassan News: The Boston Red Sox and manager Alex Cora have engaged in recent talks on a contract extension, and there is momentum toward a deal, sources tell me and @Buster_ESPN. After months of silence regarding Cora's lame-duck status, a multiyear contract is a real possibility.
  17. I'd give you numbers on why it works, but wouldn't want to trigger you.
  18. I want a SS that can actually field adequately day in and day out.
  19. On the catching, McGuire has always been bad with the running game. Wong was good last season, but had some arm issues this Spring, I believe he's been getting better recently. Wong's blocking and framing is towards the bottom of the league and he's really going to be a backup catcher long term. McGuire is above average with his framing, but if he's not hitting he's going to be sent down the river.
  20. Eye test above replacement.
  21. I'd rather plan C.
  22. O'Neill in COL vs LHP 5 - 6 (Blach, Beeks, Gomber) vs RHP 0 - 4 If they put in a LH reliever, O'Neill will be back in there.
  23. On the first point, you were the one who said he was bad on D. I thought he'd be adequate. He's playing SS at WOO due to the team's need, not because he's very good at it (18 starts at SS last season, 38 this season). He will definitely need to prove it at the next level. Part of the reason that he's so successful at AAA is that he uses the challenge system to his advantage. Maybe he'll be able to do that same in MLB when it's available in 2026?
  24. He has not been fine. 7 errors in 411 innings prorates to 22 over a full year. That's a bad Raffy Devers year. He's a bad SS even if you get past the advanced stats.
