  1. A trade for George Kirby would summon an angry A700 to appear for sure.
  2. "Hi, it's me. I'm the problem, it's me." John Henry
  3. Like when the ChiSox would only deal Cease if it included Bello?
  4. It would have to be quite the trade to move him.
  5. I never said he was less valuable than the guys I listed. His value right now is too low to deal. He has a very high ceiling and the Sox would be selling low on him. It'd just be dumb to sell him this season. My list was simply titles "young players that could get moved." It wasn't "the best Sox trade chips."
  6. And Lugo and Kavadas are Rule 5 eligible so much more likely to be dealt than Bleis who is still in A ball and struggling.
  7. With how the AL is set up, why would the M's consider moving their pitchers when they should be in contention for the next 3 years. If they could fix their hitting via FA, they could turn that club around easily. Even with the hitting woes, they are still in the playoff picture right now!
  8. People talked all offseason about trading with the M's. I just don't see them dealing their cost effective pitchers.
  9. I don't believe that people think his defense is currently subpar, just that he currently still has work to do. Why bring up a guy with bad habits now, when you can train out the bad habits before he's worried about hitting MLB pitchers too.
  10. MLB ready per Keith Law.
  11. Laws views on analytics: @keithlaw For major-leaguers, I think it's (wOBA) extremely useful. both wOBA and wRC+ weight the components accurately enough to get a solid picture of the value of a player's offense. For prospects, though, I don't like any of those overall rate stats because they aren't predictive.
  12. Someone asked Keith Law why Yorke isn't a top 100 prospect. @keithlaw Let's see. It's not a list of the best performances in the minors, but of the best prospects. OPS and AVG are lousy measures of a hitter. You picked a tiny AAA sample and ignored what he did in AA. Being a first-rounder is irrelevant now. Defense and position matter. OK?
  13. Campbell is a top 100 prospect on a few lists now. Where is Bleis???
  14. Bleis: 2023 Salem: 607 OPS 2024 Salem: 747 OPS 2024 Greenville: 521 OPS I don't believe his trade value equals what our rose colored glasses want it to be.
  15. Cool, that doesn't mean SoxProspects believes he has better trade value. It's just a prospect ranking and they say that a spot or two isn't a big deal, that it's tier dependent. As for BTV, they do a piss poor job with prospect value.
  16. @redsoxstats Breslow on @WEEI "Of course we have to line up, but I think we’ve got a good farm system, we've got depth, we’ve got some opportunities to use guys in conversations that are going to be really good Major League players, but may not have the opportunity to do so here." "Trying to find a right-handed hitter that can help even out the lineup a little better, one with positional versatility would be super helpful, whether that’s first base or potentially in the outfield is probably where we will spend some time.”
  17. No.
  18. He's so far away that the chip isn't very valuable IMO.
  19. @BOSSportsGordo Triston Casas is taking full BP and could begin a rehab assignment by the end of the week, Craig Breslow said on @TheGregHillShow .
  20. Law believes Teel is MLB ready today.
  21. Young players that could get moved: Abreu - OF Vazquez Hamilton Castro - OF Fitts Hickey Jordan Kavadas Lugo - OF Paulino Yorke
  22. Red Sox best trade chip is Marcelo Mayer.
  23. Neither was Lugo.
  24. The competition is what drives up the price point.
