  1. 100%. I saw someone complain that Devers was hitting .240 with runners in scoring position. However, his OPS is 844! Yeah, that's lower than his normal OPS, but still decent enough. OBP with runners in scoring position: 373 OBP total: 377
  2. The history has typically been that profane language has been accepted as long as it wasn't harmful or directed at another person (f slur towards another poster for example). Jbay, you may remember previously banned posters that went over the top with bad nicknames towards players and other posters (pollyannas), especially during the miserable 2012 season. That year was pretty horrible on here. Just a mix of negativity and some posters treating others poorly. Whatever we can do to not let it get back to there, I'm good with. Politics should for sure not be allowed. That's a redline.
  3. Mayer's very valuable right now. With the amount of injuries he has had, there is risk he could get a serious injury or that his value decreases as the injuries continue. Also, Sox clearly need pitching and Mayer is a way to get some. He's yet another LHB and not the highest defensive ceiling at SS. He's a solid player, but not projected to be an All Star on an annual basis. Campbell, I wouldn't trade. He's a RHB and can play all over the field, but they need to figure out where to stick him fulltime (unless they want him to just be a weird UTIL type guy). Campbell has also had offensive results that we haven't seen out of Mayer.
  4. Not sure a QO guy has been traded before the season.
  5. It makes me dread watching a game right now.
  6. I was joking about trading Campbell.
  7. @RotoClegg At this point, with what I’ve heard, I wouldn’t be shocked if Marcelo Mayer doesn’t play again this year. Maybe toward the very end of the year at best. This is likely another reason Kristian Campbell got the promotion to fill in at SS. Yikes stripes. Trevor Story 2.0.
  8. @jcmccaffrey Marcelo Mayer is going on the 7-day IL with lower back/upper glute discomfort. He’s still day to day but not quite ready to come back and the Worcester roster is in need of immediate availability and the roster spot
  9. Probably no fit for him then. Just trade him. “But several pro scouts who have worked the Eastern League this season have said they believe Kristian Campbell is the best prospect in the organization.” via @BGlobeSports .
  10. And now they are mediocre pitchers coming down the home stretch with tired mechanics leaving pitches over the middle of the plate. Hard to blame too much of it on Bailey. It's really on roster construction.
  11. I'm surprised the Bucs haven't promoted Yorke.
  12. As of today, he has 6 K's, 0 H's, 2 BB's and a 67% k rate. Only 3 games though. Yorke is batting 350 with 844 OPS (0 HR) in 17 G since being traded.
  13. Whitlock looked great in ST. The guy who looked left behind was Bello.
  14. Bello sinker 39.5% Houck sinker 316% They are just trying to get away from throwing the straight 4 seamer UNLESS the guy's repertoire really needs it or the 4 seamer is a really good one. Breslow wouldn't have taken away Randy Johnson's 4 seamer.
  15. Dom Smith released.
  16. The rotation started out as: Bello, Pivetta, Crawford, Whitlock, Houck
  17. Pivetta: 6.8 Bello: 0 Houck: 1.7 Crawford: 29.2 Bello and Houck throw hard sinkers (5 at 96 or above last night for Houck, 10 at 96 or above last time out for Bello).
  18. There have been a few guys that have passed through waivers. Sox seem uninterested in churning through more arms.
  19. Saying "he tried to sabotage the rotation" isn't exaggeration though. It's a fabrication. If he said "signing Giolito was the worst decision since Sandoval" is an exaggeration.
  20. Breslow probably deferred a lot of decisions the first Spring Training. I can't blame him. 165 guys he has to learn, not even including coaching staff and administrative folx.
