  1. My issue is that the statement, or a variation of, has been repeated so often that many people actually think the Sox don't throw 4 seamers anymore.
  2. Unlike the Acolyte, Breslow won't be cancelled after one season.
  3. How did the Newton Beacon rate Dan Duquette's performance in Damn Yankees?
  4. You said "he tried to sabotage the rotation by giving away Sale." I don't know how else to take that, honestly. That's not the same as "his intent was to improve the rotation and not destroy it."
  5. It's not me saying it, it's what the SoxProspects guys are hearing. I haven't seen him play one inning.
  6. Pivetta: 47.8%, 50.6% '23 Bello: 3.4%, 20.6% '23 Houck: 0%, 9.8% '23 Crawford: 35.1%, 39.2% '23 It's not fair to say that they don't throw 4 seamers anymore. Guys with bad 4 seamers like Houck and Bello have greatly reduced the amount it's been thrown. Bello has started to tick it back up more recently as is more comfortable when it's in his arsenal. Houck seems better off without it. The decreases from other pitchers aren't a big deal IMO.
  7. Duran was at least athletic enough that there was a chance he could figure it out. Sox are already moving Cespedes off SS and probably to OF. Being out for the season hurts the evaluation though.
  8. Mayer will flip to 3B at some point. I think he'll be fine there through his arb years or until a better SS comes along (not unhealthy Story). Cespedes is NOT a SS. He may not even be an IFer.
  9. Grissom's throwing mechanics are what makes it a weird fit for 2B. It makes more sense for him to be a corner OF or 3B. He just can't turn a double play without it being Valdez-esque.
  10. I would make sure to super two Anthony and Mayer. I'm not as concerned about Teel TBH. I'd still put Story at 2B on day one with the plan of handing SS to Mayer at some point early on in the season. If Story can stick at 2B all year, great. He was great there in 22.
  11. Right now, Campbell is jack of all trades and master of none. His defense is below par all across the diamond. He's athletic enough to figure it out somewhere, but he's just being shuttled around.
  12. I gave Whitlock his final chance this year. Never again.
  13. Putting too much pressure on them.
  14. I'd keep Mayer at SS probably. Story would go to 2b and mix and match with whatever else you want to put there. 3B would be a mystery. Meidroth?
  15. With Duran and Rafaela, do they need another CFer? They need a RFer, a good 2B, SS, 3B. If Campbell could play RF, he could be a good platoon with Abreu.
  16. There's a difference between "made a bad decision" and "intentionally threw a season."
  17. It doesn't take much time at all. It's not like challenging plays at the plate. It's almost instantaneous.
  18. Joplin only became famous because of the casting couch. Mid as hell. Give me a gal like Joan Jet any day.
  19. Like Who Let The Dogs Out that one summer?
  20. Hamilton/Romy 0.3 Rng SS Rafaela 0.4 Rng SS Duran 1.4 Rng CF Rafaela 3.4 Rng CF If you only care about range, the difference between Rafaela and the other available options is nothing compared to the difference between Rafaela and Duran. That’s why Duran would be in LF.
