  1. The ascension was even quicker than Mookie's. Mookie used all of 2013 for A ball and the AFL and was a top 10 SoxProspects guy at the end of 2013 jumping 43 spots. He was then called up for good after the trade deadline in 2014. Campbell was out of the top 30 prior to Spring Training 2024, but was put there because of the reports they heard from the scouts they get a long with. He's now neck and neck with Roman Anthony who many think is the #1 prospect in MiLB. That was in less than one calendar year vs 18 months for Mookie. Mookie was younger and had an amazing run and I'm not comparing the two. I'm just giving Campbell proper kudos for what he did this year.
  2. CF yes. K% probably not. His 26% isn't that far off from his 22% he had in AAA. I'm not sure how he'll ever get that much lower against good pitchers that know how to attack him. If he becomes a passive hitter, he'll be a worse hitter IMO.
  3. To me, a core guy is someone you are going to build your team around and you don't want leaving the organization. Definitely Core: Devers Possibly Core: Houck Duran Future Core: Anthony Campbell Mayer Teel
  4. I'm sure this will be addressed multiple times this offseason. I would say that Penrod, Booser, Weissert, Campbell, Mills, Kelly and Mata all potentially starting in AAA provides a ton of depth they usually don't have at relief. Maybe even Wikelman is pushed to the pen and really starts to shove? If they add one really great reliever and two solid guys, it's a very strong bullpen.
  5. I believe the offer is real. I believe another team may beat this offer.
  6. No name guys can make grand declarations and then just disappear if it goes wrong. If it works out, they are seen as INSIDERS even though they just scrapped their news from losers like Mario Pepen or whoever.
  7. All the twitter guys don't tend to have their own sources, but are taking it from other places. This story came from a spanish podcast I believe that was translated and then some smol bean twitter dudes ran with it.
  8. Bell, we know you're still using Netscape Navigator.
  9. There's no rule that says you aren't allowed to negotiate with two FA's at once.
  10. Woo had a great WHIP and doesn't walk anyone. Crochet is a high K guy. I'd be happy to have either as my number two behind Burnes or Fried.
  11. I'd put Winckowski in any and all trades. Don't care about that guy at all.
  12. It's going to be at least 10 years. What's another 5 at that point?
  13. Woo seems like a very good pitcher who was marginally helped out by pitching in SEA. Crochet has some question marks, but has a CY ceiling right out of the box. Hard to say who I would make the trade for, but Crochet would have to be extended for sure. I think Crochet is a little overhyped. I'm not a Crochet hater, I just think people are going a little overboard on him. I don't think he's the game changer CHW Chris Sale was prior to the trade.
  14. Frank Robinson: 22.5 bWAR age 22-25 Ken Griffey Jr: 24.8 age 22-25 Eddie Matthews: 28 bWAR Andruw Jones: 26.7 bWAR
  15. His first 3 postseason starts were ok. Game 6 sucked, but it happens. My opinions on Manaea aren't a reflection on how he pitched against the Dodgers in the postseason. He just has a history of being very productive one season and kind of sucking for a year or two. He's not a guy I want to pay 20M for.
  16. The Dodgers owners put their money where their mouths are and all the other owners just sit there and look dumbfounded. Yeah, just do that dummies.
  17. They extended them for their fair market value if the players perform well. There was no cost savings. At worst, they have a larger CBT hit than they need to for a UTIL guy and a 4/5 starter. 😖
  18. We don't know what the offer was and I can't fault him for turning it down to begin with. I think he struggled to get back on the field this year and that's what I'm most concerned about. I just want guys that can actually be counted on to play. I don't care about off field stuff so much.
