  1. Per SoxProspects: Summation: Potential fringe back-end starter or multi-inning reliever. Ceiling of a fourth starter.
  2. Fitts is back end to bullpen most likely. I haven't heard anyone say midrotation ceiling either.
  3. Rays have extended SOME players in the past (Wander, Longoria). They don't tend to sign FA's like Gio, Story, etc. The Red Sox are certainly not following any TBR trajectory. They are midmarket, not small market.
  4. All guys with big contracts that can put up 6-7 bWAR. Since 2018, Semien has more bWAR than Soto.
  5. I also have a deed to the Brooklyn Bridge that I'd like to sell you.
  6. He's on the MLB Restricted List so the Rays can ignore him. His contract is not being paid and is not a part of their CBT calc. 🤷‍♀️
  7. Fitts doesn't generate a lot of swing and miss. He had a fun little stretch, but his FIP and xERA show regression to come. Priester comes with more upside, but potentially a lower floor.
  8. Signings that the Rays would not do or afford. Their highest AAV contract is 8M. Their largest current contract is Jeffrey Springs at 4/31. Brandon Lowe is the only guy making over 10M this year and that's because they picked up a club option.
  9. Penrod has high octane stuff and is a lefty. Bailey Horn is a lefty. Gasper is the only Catcher on the 40 man not named Wong. Shugart is the low guy on the totem pole to me. I think they'll try Wikelman out in the pen before DFA'ing or trading him. Booser wasn't exactly horrible when he pitched. I watched some clips of Campbell pitching in SEA and he looked interesting. I saw him pitch in spring training last year and it didn't look that great from what I remember.
  10. Campbell was a Stuff+ guy, but the Sox have their internal metrics and see him everyday. They must not have liked what they were working with. I trust their judgement. He has a good stache game, the rest of it seems to be a struggle.
  11. They'll always make a frickton of money, which is why they should always spend up to the CBT with short term contracts even in rebuild years.
  12. Hard to be Tampa North when they sign Devers extension and make dumb FA signings like Story, Gio, Masa, etc.
  13. If they don't snag Soto, Teoscar is fine for a Plan B. I don't think I'd sign Adames and I'm not sure I'd even sing Kim. They have enough young guys to work into the lineup that I'd rather focus on pitching.
  14. Be sure to drink your Ovaltine????
  15. Hunter Dobbins and Jhostynxon Garcia added to 40 man.
  16. Pivetta turned down the QO.
  17. Ohtani was available last year. Judge was available the year before that. Semien, Seager and Freeman the year before that.
  18. Hoarding all the NY hitting coaches we can find.
  19. Today is the day...
  20. Maybe I do? Maybe I don't do?
  21. Uh oh, the payroll blueprint police arrived...
  22. It's fun to get caught up. We all need that distraction every once in a while. I think the last few years have caused a few of us to keep our feet placed more firmly on the ground.
