  1. 119 wRC+ last September 4 WAR season this year for Story
  2. Mayer 3B Story SS Campbell 2B Christian Walker 1B Trade Casas for pitching. Raffy is DH.
  3. You can thank Bloom for that. We'll see if Breslow is able to continue to add. There are high hopes for Tolle.
  4. I'm not sure they are going to really sign Bregman to move him around the IF. He hasn't played SS the past 5 seasons and he's a career -5 OAA at the position in about 100 games from when he was MUCH younger. 2B? It doesn't make sense with Campbell and Mayer in the pipeline. 3B makes sense if you're going to move Raffy to 1B/DH.
  5. It'd be an interesting conversation if he was 3 years younger. Unfortunately, this contract will only include 1-2 prime Bregman seasons before he regresses. We've already heard that there is an internal conflict over Bregman between Breslow and Cora/Sam. My guess is that Breslow would rather use the $ to be spent on Bregman on pitching. I agree. Sox still have two MIF guys on the cusp of helping out. I don't know why they'd anchor themselves to more aging players the way they did with Story and Masa.
  6. How's that vaunted BoSox defense? How'd the ChiSox play against the BoSox?
  7. You know who was a good STUFF guy? Kaleb Ort.
  8. After July 1: 14 GS, 44 IP. If this move was to win now, is this a guy who can even help in the second half? We have no idea. Cherry picking the last 3 starts doesn't clue us in on much.
  9. Quickly? Elmer had been around a while. Last year was his third in Salem. His fastball has poor characteristics and he doesn't have a typical MLB pitcher body. They were quicker to promote other guys last season (Wehunt) before Elmer. I just think he wasn't valued at all. Probably saw him as a reliever.
  10. This isn't a team that is going to do enough damage in 2025 for it to be the only season to matter. If they were on the precipice of the WS last year and this move gets them over the top, fine. That's not where this franchise is. They still have a long way to go IMO. Short term moves aren't going to fix the inherent problems of the top of the organization.
  11. I disagree. He is currently a big injury question mark and is on the verge of a second TJS. There is a poor track record for pitchers after the second TJS.
  12. He needs to be a TOTR guy for the trade to be a success IMO. Being only a #3 would make this a terrible trade even if Teel and Montgomery don't entirely pan out.
  13. No, he hasn't.
  14. With the trade for Crochet, Criswell automatically starts in WOO and is only called up if there's an injury.
  15. Castillo? That’s a new topic for us!
  16. Sox finally get their man! "It was a pivot to a pivot to a pivot to the guy we wanted all along."
