    Moon is very Grinchy today for some reason. I will let him be upset that the Sox acquired Crochet, Buehler, Sandoval and Chapman BEFORE Christmas. There's more work to be done obviously. Just relax a little.

    Flaherty has similar injury red flags to Buehler. It's just picking your poison at that point. At least they went out and grabbed a starter to better their rotation. I didn't think there was any realistic chance they'd be shopping at the top of the market for a starter once they traded for Crochet.

    When the Sox miss out on Sasaki, everyone is going to blame Henry for some reason. There are clear arguments for Henry being cheap, missing out on Roki Sasaki will not be one of them.

    Romy's defense has been pretty rough over at 3B when given the opportunity. I think Romy takes a considerable step backwards this year and people start to ask for him to be DFA'd.

    Paxton was a rehab guy and not going to pitch a full year at best. Wacha had only pitched 124 innings the year prior after finishing up in the TB bullpen with a 1.1 fWAR. Hill was a mildly better acquisition coming off a career high 158 innings and 1.7 fWAR, but at 42 years old and didn't complete 6 innings in a start until mid May. Those acquisitions don't get the blood flowing. Hill had 1.8 fWAR in 23 and Wacha had 1.5. That's less fWAR than the top four 2024 BOS starters: Houck, Crawford, Bello and Pivetta. I think we've overstated what those acquisitions really brought to the team.

    If Buehler can stay healthy long enough before handing it over to Sandoval? Sox have considerable starting depth if they don't move Crawford.

    Luzardo has an injury history that rivals Buehler's. Pass on a trade for him.

    Many of us have been asking for two starting pitchers in an offseason and they finally did it. I don't believe the 2022 season acquisitions of Wacha, Hill and Paxton count.

    There's a lot to Arenado's game that is fringy at the moment.

    As I've said before, Sandoval was 100% about 2026. I don't think he factors into the rotation this year. Maybe he gets some starts down the stretch, but the value should come next season. He'll take over Gio's spot if Gio pitches over 140 innings this season. If Gio misses 140 innings due to a late start to the year, he'll take over Buehler's spot and Gio will come back on the 14M vesting option.

    Crochet Houck Giolito Buehler Bello Crawford to the pen? Traded? Crawford was really strong out of the pen in '23: 1.66 ERA, 471 OPS, 4.5 k/9, 0.69 WHIP.
