    Honestly, I couldn't care less about beat writers going forward and them trying to gin up stories. Hounding baseball players isn't journalism. It's just TMZ/National Enquirer muckraking. Could probably get a better quote from Bat Boy and the Weekly World News than reading anything Cotillo has done in his whole career.

    I get the conversation about the roster manipulations. However, most of the handwringing now is about Raffy and Cora's comments.

    He's not officially in charge yet, I believe. That's not until next offseason.

    It'll be interesting to see if the hitting coordinators can do a reverse Campbell and fix Will Turner. Will spent some time at AL trying to change his contact style swing to add power and saw his stock plummet. Can the Sox get his contact swing back?

    It was a story on Monday a non-issue in camp on Tuesday. Day three, it's just a talking point that everyone else is running with. Seems to not have any traction within the clubhouse.

    Bloom always seemed to try to find low upside guys off the waiver wire and hope to hit on 1 out of 10 or so. Breslow’s approach (building pitching system top to bottom and adding known commodities at MLB level) helps the BOS team be more competitive year after year IMO.

    I think there’s a much better chance the Sox win the division now, but I still think it’s not the most likely scenario. WC 65% Division 20% No playoffs 15% I’d also have Crochet as the #1 in the rotation above Cease, but both have the potential to be an “ace.” We have a long tradition here of wearing out what the definition is of an ace and how many aces there are in the league, so many of us have adopted other terms to avoid the argument altogether.

    He'd still have a negative OAA and DRS after that game because of how defensive metrics treat LF at Fenway.

    If you go by people that watched the full interview session and listened to what the interpreter was telling Raffy, I think you have it a bit off. His reaction was someone who was deeply annoyed with the reporters. He wasn't combative early on. The translator asked him "what position do you wish to play" over and over again. He just said he wasn't just going to change his position right now and that he believes he's a 3b. He never said he wouldn't play anywhere else in the future. He was asked the same phrasing by the translator numerous times about 3b. That's why he got so heated. He had to answer the same friggin question over and over again and then had someone question him about his weight. Of course he's going to be a little upset after that.

    It appears as if Bregman will be flexible enough for both of them. Really comes off as a true leader.

    There have been no new concerns levelled from Raffy today. He must have squashed his beef last night when hanging out with Bregman (very fluent Spanish speaker). Raffy always looks heavy. When has he not? 2017?

    We never heard directly from Dhevers, it was just the telephone game between reporters, and interpreter and him.
