  1. I think he's a good player. I just want him at 3B rather than 2B so that one of the best Sox prospects we've ever seen has a chance to take over at 2B. I have no problem with the contract at all. Glad it's only for 3 years.
  2. Kind of steep for what they did to Bill Campbell. They definitely road him hard and put him back wet in '77. I was fortunate enough to live in Boston from 97-07 and mostly within walking distance of Fenway. Being able to get Pedro tickets the day of the game (without a dumb app) was always fun.
  3. See, we're all over here talking normally and you're over on your own tangent all together trying to make a point that nobody cares about. If you don't want to talk about CBT and its implications fine, but then don't plan on having any sort of adult conversation surrounding the Sox payroll.
  4. When they don't spend it on payroll, were you getting a discount?
  5. Masa is going to be dunking on some of these fans like Air Bud this season.
  6. O'Neill 109 HR 278 RBI Bregman 191 HR 663 RBI Bregman had 75 RBI last season. O'Neill has only had more than that once in his whole career!!!!!!
  7. You mean methods like the ones the Yankees used in that unsealed letter?
  8. The CBT number is much more important that the flat contract number that has no implications on how the Sox operate as a business.
  9. He couldn't physically play the OF last year because of his shoulder. Seems obvious enough to me.
  10. O'Neill had more HRs than Bregman did, but Bregman had way more total bases than O'Neill which is more important. He's been much healthier and productive than O'Neill has been, even last year. Also, Bregman has a very low k rate, which this team really needs.
  11. I'll be at a game in 4 weeks!
  12. The 2018/19 claims were about the buzzers in the jerseys that were never substantiated.
  13. It was talked about during 2018 and the lead up to the Sox/Dodgers WS. The official investigation was after 2019 because that's how slow MLB is. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/houston-astros-accused-of-cheating-after-man-spotted-filming-opposing-dugout-mlb-investigating https://www.nj.com/yankees/2018/10/mlb_playoffs_2018_houston_astros_cheat_steal_signs.html
  14. Bregman will at least be an average 2B. O'Neill was a big time negative defender in OF last year.
  15. Casas and Yoshida for Arenado and Contreras? NO! Arenado and a catcher for prospects? NO! Are the Sox running a senior circuit here or are they trying to get Campbell and Anthony a path to MLB at some point?
  16. Nobody is going to want Giolito after coming off surgery. Maybe an in season deal, but not during ST. Bello is too cheap of a deal to move as a cost cutting measure.
  17. His problem in the IF is the consistency in his arm which is why some are projecting him to move off the dirt and out into the grass.
  18. Easy to dismiss "everyone I want to get better, gets better" scenarios.
  19. What he gives you is equal or better offense and PLUS PLUS defense, something you've been crowing about for a while now.
