  1. Blaze Jordan? God, no. 693 OPS last year. 11 errors in 57 games at 3B. If he can't hack it at 3B in AA, he'll never make it in MLB where the game is much faster.
  2. He was better in '23 in HR/9, so there's hope that '24 was an aberration due to the knee injury.
  3. Who makes the lineup card? Casas? Raffy?
  4. 2nd most Innings in the AL East 15 QS (same as Jack Flaherty, Manaea, Keller; only 27 pitchers had more) 175 K's (tied with Luis Castillo 24th) 3.43 K/BB (27th between Webb and Rodon) 1.12 WHIP (18th tied with Bibee) If he cuts down on the HR's, he'll be fine. It's not rocket science.
  5. Wyatt Mills is going to pitch in BOS at some point this year if he stays healthy.
  6. Sean Newcomb started today's game. Are they even trying? Seems like they are PUNTING this year already!
  7. I think we're more invested in 3b than Raffy is at this point.
  8. If Raffy hit 1232 the first two months the way Manny did, those skullcaps would sell out fast. Manny also had a 1747 OPS in the 2008 postseason. Dude really wanted to be out of Boston.
  9. If he was going to be a "major malcontent" I think we'd be hearing more from him about 3b. There hasn't been a PEEP since last Monday.
  10. Ortiz began to start off slow every season ('08, '09, '10) but learned how to get himself out of that habit. This may be something that Raffy will have to learn as well as he ages. It won't be as easy to get going every Spring as he puts on weight and his body matures.
  11. Bregman, Campbell, Story and Yoshida all being on the All Star Team will be must watch tv!
  12. Crawford pitched very well in '23, but struggled at times last season. If he was indeed injured for 90% of it, maybe his true self is more like '23? Hard to really say. If his ceiling is '23, then there is at least a well above average pitcher than the Sox can try to pull out that arm.
  13. Cora has also said that he wants to do whatever he can to keep Raffy healthy, which probably means him playing the field a lot less. Raffy showing up not ready to go for 3B is the worst case scenario for him holding onto the position.
  14. Make a prediction on a few guys?
  15. Maybe Houck threw a simulated game yesterday?
  16. No lightning, it just rained all day down here across most of the state. Looks better today.
  17. I can't imagine that guys like Priester, Fitts, et al can come in and automatically be 2% below average right from the jump. Any fill in could be significantly worse than Crawford.
  18. I'll move past that dotard Descartes and agree with Bertrand Russell when he said "man is a rational animal — so at least I have been told. Throughout a long life I have looked diligently for evidence in favour of this statement, but so far I have not had the good fortune to come across it." I mean, you've all read the posts on here, right?
  19. Jeez, I was under the assumption that Devers was still at 3b and Bregman was at 2b. Until Devers is actually moved off position, I think that's the starting point for most arguments.
  20. I edited the title and figured we could used Jad's post for all Spring Training games. We'll go back to singular game threads once we get to the regular season. Houck is pitching today if anyone is interested.
  21. I would like jacko's take on the matter, actually.
