  1. At worst, you send him back to AAA if it's not working out in MLB. It's not like he's out of options or that he wouldn't understand being sent back down. His BABIP was crazy high before reaching AAA, but his 333 BABIP in AAA seems normal. He still had a 139 wRC+/898 OPS. He has a great hitters eye, so I think you'd see if he can't handle it very early on if his bb rate plummets or not. When you have a guy that could reasonably win the ROY and give you a PPI, I think you put them on the roster right away.
  2. Duran's arm isn't great, but a lot of CFers have bad arms and his metrics were really good last season in CF.
  3. Open to all 3. I'm not a big Grissom guy so I'd deal him. Hamilton is a very low ceiling guy IMO as he can only really play 2b. I'm not worried about moving on from him. Romy has a lot of positional versatility, but I think his production takes a step back this season. Making room in the OF is tougher, but I'd turn Rafaela into a Super UTIL and have Duran be the starting CFer. That opens up one of the corner OF spots for Anthony without having to deal Abreu.
  4. Most reporters do have an online presence and post these interactions for non-listening audiences.
  5. Which reporter?
  6. I haven't found a source for this yet either.
  7. I don't really care about AAA. Devers only had 38 PA's there before being promoted. If they show they aren't ready in ST, they aren't ready. My assumption is that they show they are more than ready.
  8. That sounds like non shoulder issues, but IDK. We always infer a lot this time of year.
  9. Being "behind on conditioning" is different than what is posted above in relation to his shoulder. Hope that helps.
  10. Every season, orgs get criticized for having their best prospects waste AB's in AAA. We have Anthony and Campbell very close to being ready and it's amazing that so many people are just assuming neither will be on the Opening Day roster. If I was the CBO, they'd both make the team out of camp.
  11. Give Casas the ball at the goal line and his whole body would explode.
  12. As far as I can tell, you're the only one reporting it unless you can show a source.
  13. Is he actually saying "I'm not talking to reporters anymore" or are you all just getting upset for no reason again?
  14. 42K is pretty high for FL private high schools, but it's now basically 50% of that with the voucher program having no income eligibility restrictions. My guess is that he also got in pretty cheap due to his baseball ability. Also, if you're living in Broward County, you might not want to send your kids to public school if you can afford it depending on where you live.
  15. I agree that it's impossible to say. It's interesting that Jeter was a better defender earlier in his career and in 2009 when they won a few WS. I think it's better baseball to have your best defender play SS, but I understand why they had Jeter stay at SS. You don't know the butterfly effect of moving him off SS. Maybe he pouts and it tanks the franchise and he gets traded?
  16. It's been 24 hours? He went a whole day without an interview? My stars!?!?!?!
  17. Per the gamethreads, it's the umpires a lot of times... 👎
  18. 100% On Cora's yoga comments: I think his comments aren't out of thin air. I think he was just explaining why it rubbed veteran players the wrong way and why Casas' perceived attitude doesn't really fit with the typical MLBer. I think the older players who are all about "doing things the right way" are going to have to learn to adjust and come around on younger players like Casas like they have always had to. On Cora's injury comments: I think this was really directed towards Casas' pain tolerance and that there was a perception by the Red Sox, not just Cora, that Casas should have been able to be back a little sooner and play through some of the pain.
  19. Casas just doesn't give a crap. He's always going to say whatever is on his mind. I think his teammates realize that now and either "get it" or tune him out.
  20. Bregman said in an interview on Section 10 that the players and team haven't even discussed it. Right now, they are just out there practicing and it's not a big deal. Bregman said he just wants to win and doesn't care where he plays. Ultimately, it will be up to Cora, which means Devers will probably need to show in ST that he's able to field the position.
  21. Once they had a better SS in ARod, it made sense to move Jeter to 3b or 2b. After they got ARod, they only won one other WS after winning 4 previously. Jeter was a decent SS in his early 20's per the metrics. His first bad season wasn't until 2000. So the Yankees won 3 WS when Jeter was a "good" SS (3 in 4 years) and two when he was a "bad" SS (2 in 15 years). However, he had a good defensive season out of nowhere in 2009 (3 DRS) so maybe his good defense helped propel them to a title that season. If ARod's better defense had been at SS from 2004 on, maybe they win a few more?
  22. Yes. You're getting the Air Bud comments because he won the World Series MVP.
