  1. Wilyer is younger, a better hitter, a better fielder and has more years of control. Aside from Duran's speed, I don't know what else teams would prefer about him.
  2. His k rate has gone up a little, but his walk rate dropped dramatically. His other issue is everything he now hits is being pounded into the dirt. Can MLB coaching fix it?
  3. They believe he can turn it around. They also don't have someone that can come up and be better than him. It also is admitting that they chose the wrong guy to bring up on day 1.
  4. If he's demoted, they are just swapping him with Sogard. Romy/Hamilton platoon at 2b would be my guess.
  5. I'd prefer NOT to trade Abreu. I don't know who would play RF if they moved him. Anthony is mainly a LFer in WOO. I also believe his skills will age better than Duran's.
  6. I believe our current ranking has a lot to do with Bloom. I was just asking you the question because you stated it was a top 3-5 ranked system under Bloom and Breslow. I figured you knew the rankings? 😑 SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH....
  7. Are we going to move on from the dumb "well he's just the 9th hitter" argument though? That shields him from criticism from when he stinks. When he's going well, it's easy to say that his offense is enough to be worthy of CF. The defensive parts of WAR don't prorate the way offensive WAR does. For example, the highest DRS last year was 22. Rafaela won't go much higher than that and probably not even reach 20 TBH. He won't end up with 30 DRS. It's just not really accurate to say "he's projecting to be at X WAR at year end." It's not entirely how it works IMO. The reason we talk about benching Rafaela is because we want Anthony on the roster. The ways to do that are: Rafaela Super UTIL, Rafaela/Duran platoon or trade somebody. The Super UTIL idea potentially works because of how awful the MIF has been this year. If you are strong in the OF and weak in the IF, but have an OFer than can play IF, moving him to the IF isn't the dumbest idea. The platoon works because both guys can play CF and have splits. People want Anthony up BECAUSE THIS TEAM HAS UNDERACHIEVED with the roster it currently has. If they keep running the same guys out there, it's not going to get much better.
  8. Jhostynxon is #99 in the new BA rankings.
  9. I think his post game reaction of saying he's making the right throw when Cora is adamantly saying he's missing the cutoff is a bad reaction. Cora has expressed a lot of frustration over Rafaela missing signs, missing cutoff guys, not following direction and just not being a good fundamental player. He's athletic as hell, but my guess is Cora would move on from Rafaela before he'd move on from Duran.
  10. Is answering a question with another unrelated question going to get you the response you want? Probably not.
  11. What was the highest ranking it had nationally under Bloom (not FanGraphs)?
  12. It's one of the options to get Anthony on the roster. Are we still calling him "just the 9th hitter" or is he something more? If he's more than a 9th hitter now, I don't want to be told WELL ACTUALLY if he goes back to OPSing 600 by the end of the season.
  13. I don't think any of us make trade predictions, we make trade suggestions. Those are completely different things.
  14. If I was drinking heavily, this season would be a lot easier to deal with.
  15. Unlike the Red Sox, the Tigers don't have a bunch of holes in their lineup. Not a bunch of superstars, but a bunch of 100 and above OPS+ guys. Every starter has an ERA under 4.25. They may not have a bunch of household names, but they have a top 10 offense, defense, rotation and bullpen.
  16. It's a weekly meeting that drains the lifeforce of everyone in the room for 2+ hours. 😮‍💨
  17. The amount of imminent predictions that you have posted on here...
  18. Mayer is struggling as much at the plate as Campbell, but we can ignore it because he has a competent glove? That's exactly the reason I was saying Mayer needed to stay in AAA a little longer to begin with.
  19. He made some bad deals. I think he would NOT have signed Masa though.
  20. He ate so many early on in his career that he's now full. Can't fit anymore!
