Some prospects get a little too overhyped (Miguel Bleis, Gilberto Jiminez, Antoni Flores, etc). -
Except that the step down in defense from Rafaela to Duran may be more than the step down from Rafaela to Sogard at 2b.

They aren't trading Duran now. Rafaela isn't a good IFer though. He's most valuable in CF no matter what.

His numbers in AAA are worse this year. He's most likely behind Kyle Harrison on the depth chart. He was called up earlier in the year and didn't look up. He also doesn't pitch very well out of the pen.

The old adage is that pitching wins in the playoffs. The Rangers are 2nd in MLB in fWAR. I believe they underperformed in the first half. If that team is starting a run, it may be tough for the Sox to keep up. Red Sox lost to the Cubs and Phillies and those teams looked much more legitimate to me. The Dodgers are now on a 5-13 run and will set a record for most pitchers used in a season. I don't know why they continue to collect pitchers like Snell and Glasnow when they already have Gonsolin and May. Even Ohtani is a mighty risk for them if they are relying on him to be a starter.

Fitts is having a nice reverse split season. Kind of weird since hitters are really teeing off on his slider. You think that would be LHB's doing so. Buxton is having a fun season for the Twins and is guaranteed to stay healthy for the whole series. Willi Castro may be traded while one of these games is going on. He may even just swap clubhouses. Harrison Bader might put a couple onto the Monster. Paddack tomorrow. TBD pitching Wednesday.

They did add Bregman and Crochet this offseason. The expectations were higher than .500 this season.

Baseball America has him ranked 29th in MiLB. He had been higher.

I'd give the Sox the edge at C, OF (if Rafaela is moved back), 3B. If Chapman is out, the pens are about equal. Rangers have a better rotation, even if you break it down to a short series. TEX is the 2nd best pitching team in MLB per fWAR. If the bats get hot, they'll make a run down the stretch.

Woods Richardson is fine, but the cost of lettering his jerseys is probably too much for Henry TBH!

Early's main issue is holding velo. Some starts, he'll be at 97. Other starts, he won't break 94.

Harrison will eventually get called up. Sox may need someone to cover for Chapman, which pushes a current AAA starter to the AAA pen. Also, Early and Sandlin were probably on track innings wise to be in AAA.

If the Sox continue to play dumb baseball and reach the postseason. They will not win. They will lose. They will lose due to Rafaela being a bad 2b. They will lose due to catcher's interference. They will lose due to Jarren Duran running into Masa.

When he has a mediocre team, he gets mediocre results. I think he needs more veteran players to the results we expect around here (we were happy with him in '18 and '21).

Salas hasn't had an OPS above 600 after being promoted from low A. Dylan Cease is high variance pitcher due to his control issues. Both players have a decently high trade value. That the Sox wouldn't move Duran for them (reports disagree about this assertion one way or the other), shows how highly the Sox value Duran at the very least. This shows to me that they aren't just going to dump him off for some of the trades I've seen proposed on here. It would have to be for a decent return for players with good value and control.

I think some of those guys are on the table, but I don't think he's going to deal more than 6 of those names. If he's dealing Arias or Garcia, it needs to be for something better than the arms we've traded for in the past.
