  1. Houck's issues have nothing to do with Cora. He was a bulk innings guy who nobody on here could agree if he belonged in the pen or rotation prior to last season. Bailey got him to fake it for half a year and he earned and AS appearance for it. This year, it fell apart and he's been trash. Also, there's an apparent injury issue which a lot of people speculated about. Buehler was coming of TJS last season and was BRUTAL. He had a little bit of success in the post season, but was horrible otherwise for the whole year. Breslow took a chance and brought him in. He's been up and down and I think it was to be expected. He had a 5.38 ERA last season, 4.49 xFIP. His numbers are slightly better this year and that includes the blow up last time out which is certainly not on Cora.
  2. He needs to start pulling the ball again. Everything going oppo isn't a great indicator for him. I'm glad he had a few hits this series, but I only saw mild improvement TBH. The TalkSox guys mentioned a rib issue with Kristian? He definitely doesn't look like the guy I saw at the beginning of the year.
  3. Cora's extension wasn't long enough.
  4. Calling up Blaze after 6 games instead of Anthony. Ridiculous.
  5. For a guy that was 8-9th on the depth chart, he's really holding his own.
  6. And we don't know if Priester would pitch the same amount of innings under Cora who has a quick hook. Priester who struggles against LHB (796 OPS, 5.03 ERA, 1.60 WHIP) may also be treated differently in this org. We don't know what his usage would be here. Milwaukee has found a use for him. Good for them. I'm still happy with the trade. His 0.1 fWAR is also tied with Gio and Bello.
  7. Even if you just go from ATL series to now: 874 OPS, 34% K If this is him locked in, he's still in trouble IMO. He's had some big at bats and nice games, but he's not really a guy I'm ready to anoint as "being back." I'm glad he's hitting, but he needs to do it longer than a week stretch and a few games here or there.
  8. Do you not know how an opener works after this many years?
  9. The trade was Priester for 33rd pick, Yophery and Holobetz (last year 5th rounder).
  10. Wrong. For the pick, plus the prospects, it’s an overwhelming value.
  11. He struggles vs LHB so now comes in after an opener. His k/bb rate is terrible.
  12. I’m glad there’s another thread about this.
  13. Priester isn’t a starter anymore. He comes in after an opener so those stats no longer count maybe?
  14. Priester does not look better than Dobbins. His numbers are only better than Fitts’ because Fitts is rehabbing in MLB than WOO.
  15. It’s my anniversary. I’m sure I’ll have something better to do.

  18. Sandlin has Rule 5 concerns. More urgency.
