    He's a contact hitter that was supposed to develop some pop. He had a 920 OPS in AAA in '23. It just fell apart last year. He wouldn't be the first prospect to fall off the map.

    It's not the greatest spring for sure, but "such a tough" is really weird. I mean, Priester wasn't really lighting the world on fire last summer in AAA. I don't know what the expectations were for some people. I think maybe the Sox got a little to excited about Priester's stuff getting better this offseason. There were gains, but nothing like what we saw from Fitts. FWIW, Nick Yorke has a 575 OPS this spring.

    Long term, Abreu isn't going to be a fulltime OFer here so I don't see the point in starting him vs LHP. They are seemingly committed to Rafaela and Duran playing fulltime. vs LHP Refsnyder LF (especially if at Fenway) Duran CF Rafaela RF vs RHP Duran LF Rafaela CF Abreu RF That's fine until Anthony is called up. At that point, Abreu becomes the 4th OFer and Refsnyder starts against really difficult LHP.

    If he can't hit, it doesn't matter what his position is.

    Getting reps so that he's warming up the position temporarily until Abreu is ready to play fulltime.

    I'd have him platoon with Hickey at 1B in AAA.

    There's no reason to put any of them on the 40 right now unless you are calling them up to the 26 the same day.

    He mainly played OF until 2022 when it flipped and he was a DH 2/3's of the time. Maybe he bulked up or got slower as he aged? He's not the worst we've seen in LF, but he's not good.
