  1. He's posted on the lineup card everyday. The first time I heard it was when they did the All Star announcement video last season and Cora spoke about Duran and how every kid should play like Duran because he plays hard and posts. I think it was mentioned in the Netflix doc too. Outside of Alex Cora, I've never heard it before.
  2. I used to get on Casas for being too passive at the plate and watching too many called strikes go by. By the numbers, Campbell is even worse than Casas at zone swing %, called strike % and has a similar strikeout looking %.
  3. Cora probably looks at it as "what are you going to give me from June - Sept" rather than "what have you already done for me?" I think that's why he'd lean on Duran. He also likes that Duran POSTS every day. He wants Duran at the top of every lineup card for a reason. If he was the CBO, he would most certainly trade Rafaela to make room. He sees him as expendable and potentially uncoachable.
  4. A lot of the pitches he gets at the bottom of the zone are GB. Biggest struggle is with all pitches out of the zone and the bottom corners of the plate if you look at SLG, xSLG, wOBA, xISO, etc. He's made good contact on pitches in the top of the zone per Batter Run Value.
  5. He's not better than Mayer. He may not even be better than '25 Story.
  6. At times, he's been aggressive. I think the Sox main problem is "too many cooks." I think we saw that with the Bregman situation this offseason and Cora/Kennedy saying one thing to the media and Breslow believing something else internally. The longer stuff like this goes on, the more I see why any respectable CBO wouldn't take this job. No matter how good you are, if you don't do the move that Cora/Kennedy want, it's going to be painted as you being a schmuck in the media.
  7. Campbell already has history playing OF in MiLB and this year's ST too! Anthony hasn't played IF since little league. I think there's a bit of a difference. Campbell has been primed for multi-position usage since he came to the organization. Don't be upset if Cora continues to use him that way.
  8. Whatever it takes to get Anthony here, I'm fine with TBH.
  9. 1300 OPS the last 7 games thanks to good ole' Pat Fatse!
  10. I'd want my backup Catcher to either be a masher or be a plus defender. Wong is neither.
  11. Cora has said there's a chance they could send Rafaela to 3b.
  12. Ok, I have your answer "about 10." I wasn't initially looking to beat you up over this. I was just looking for your answer about Bloom's ranking. I wasn't taking a side about who is deserving of praise for the ranking.
  13. Don't beat up iortiz for his word choice please. He learned a lot of his English from posting with us. Any finger pointing you do, there's a few more right back at you.
  14. Which one costs less? Duran? IDK. I'd peg that at about equal value. I think it depends on the needs of the other team. If a playoff team needs a leadoff guy, they could shell out for Duran.
  15. Oh, are we hoping they are going to make the right move here because they certainly won't. The right move if they want to still show Red Sox Nation that they want to compete this year would be Story to 2B, Rafaela to SS, Anthony to LF, Duran to CF and Campbell to WOO (temporarily) if they aren't going to make any trades. I'd just trade Duran though.
  16. Yeah, that's the best defensive lineup at Fenway if you're throwing them all out there. Maybe at other stadiums you can swap Rafaela and Duran?
  17. Again, I'm asking about under Bloom, which is what you are saying when you say: Kinda-sorta, but not a top 3-5 farm like the Sox reached under Bloom-Breslow.
  18. In 300 G, he has 1.5 fWAR/3.8 bWAR. I'm not worried about trying to get him back on track. He hasn't been consistent offensively or defensively since reaching more advanced pitching in AAA.
  19. Yeah, way to go you friggin' idiot. Don't come back until you know the exact date.
