  1. The bathwater isn't the only part of the tub though!
  2. I was confident about 6 IP last time out for Bello. IDK about tonight. I think he'll at least go 5+ though.
  3. Abreu - 634 OPS since May 1, but the only RF defender they have Duran - doesn't really hit LHP, defense has slipped, about a 750 OPS guy now? Rafaela - all his value comes in playing CF, his OPS jumped 100 points because of 4 HR in 7 games, but he's just really streaky at the bat To me, none of these guys would stand in the way of Roman Anthony. He's the best prospect in baseball and a potential multiple MVP award winner. You either trade a guy, rotate Anthony in, or platoon Rafaela and Duran.
  4. Imagine if they didn't sign Story in '22, but signed Swanson in '23 like a lot of us wanted instead. Cora would probably look like a better manager. 😎
  5. The catching situation is pretty dire. I think that GRE team is loaded, so if they add Johanfran (after adding Freili) they may need to move another guy up to POR to make room. I have no idea what they'll do. Garcia only had 14 games at SAL so it wouldn't be a huge shocker for him to go there for a few months. Nobody would be in his way.
  6. I'm glad you're taking care of your mental health. Some people on here are not.
  7. That's because he knew Raffy (real coach of the team) wouldn't let Cora adjust the lineup.
  8. What are the baseball reasons for keeping Anthony down?
  9. On his 90 ft splits, he's tied with Vlad Jr. 😬
  10. A less speedy runner?
  11. He has the best OPS+ of his career this year. I wouldn't put him back in the field, unless they revoke the DH rule.
  12. 991 OPS since April 2. He should never play the field again!
  13. The catching in the lower minors is horrible. If he goes to SAL, he'll just mash. GRE has Brannon and White, but maybe they move somebody to AA?
  14. I don't know why some people even bother watch the Red Sox any more. It sounds horrible for them!
  15. 1. This doesn't even make sense as Breslow was happy NOT signing Bregman going into the season. There was a good chance that Devers was going to be the 3b in 2025. The trade proposals to the Cardinals were never realistic enough because they always included salary dumps that the Cardinals wouldn't take on, same as Breslow faced when dealing with the Mariners. 2. If he wants to add wins by firing Cora, why extend him. It makes zero sense.
  16. Houck's issues have nothing to do with Cora. He was a bulk innings guy who nobody on here could agree if he belonged in the pen or rotation prior to last season. Bailey got him to fake it for half a year and he earned and AS appearance for it. This year, it fell apart and he's been trash. Also, there's an apparent injury issue which a lot of people speculated about. Buehler was coming of TJS last season and was BRUTAL. He had a little bit of success in the post season, but was horrible otherwise for the whole year. Breslow took a chance and brought him in. He's been up and down and I think it was to be expected. He had a 5.38 ERA last season, 4.49 xFIP. His numbers are slightly better this year and that includes the blow up last time out which is certainly not on Cora.
  17. He needs to start pulling the ball again. Everything going oppo isn't a great indicator for him. I'm glad he had a few hits this series, but I only saw mild improvement TBH. The TalkSox guys mentioned a rib issue with Kristian? He definitely doesn't look like the guy I saw at the beginning of the year.
  18. Cora's extension wasn't long enough.
  19. Calling up Blaze after 6 games instead of Anthony. Ridiculous.
  20. For a guy that was 8-9th on the depth chart, he's really holding his own.
  21. And we don't know if Priester would pitch the same amount of innings under Cora who has a quick hook. Priester who struggles against LHB (796 OPS, 5.03 ERA, 1.60 WHIP) may also be treated differently in this org. We don't know what his usage would be here. Milwaukee has found a use for him. Good for them. I'm still happy with the trade. His 0.1 fWAR is also tied with Gio and Bello.
  22. Even if you just go from ATL series to now: 874 OPS, 34% K If this is him locked in, he's still in trouble IMO. He's had some big at bats and nice games, but he's not really a guy I'm ready to anoint as "being back." I'm glad he's hitting, but he needs to do it longer than a week stretch and a few games here or there.
  23. Do you not know how an opener works after this many years?
