    Arraez has been a 1.7 fWAR guy the last two full seasons combined. I'd rather throw Masa or Casas at 1b instead if that's all you're getting out of him.

    Trying to get Ryan in July makes no sense. Can he get him this offseason? Sure. Could Breslow (or a more experienced version) have acquired a 1b or 2b to help with the positional rotation? Definitely. Another RP? Yes.

    Arraez has only played above 50 games at 2b once and had a -11 OAA. There's a big reason he was transitioned to 1b. He's pretty bad there too.

    There's less time to be methodical and stick to a process during a blitz like the trade deadline. I think you need experience to really run the end of July. Offseason, drafting, building the farm, etc. should be easier.

    What do those years have to do with this year? This year's rotation has 4 new starters. The position players include Narvaez, Anthony, a healthy Story for once, Bregman and maybe a new fulltime 1b? The bullpen has a healthy Whitlock and Chapman is one of the best closers in baseball.

    Rogers 1.41 ERA vs May 4.59 ERA Sugano 3.90 ERA vs Buehler 5.40 ERA BAL just went 2-1 vs SEA, 2-1 vs HOU and 2-1 vs BOS back to back to back. Must be a pretty good last place team. OR it speaks to how BAD Houston and Seattle are. God, the whole American League must be totally awful if these 3 teams are in the playoff picture, but just lost their series to the a last place team!

    Sox are in the WC hunt. If they miss out, it's on them and not the other teams around them. If they fall apart for the 4th year in a row, it says a lot about the players and the coaches as a whole TBH.

    I think it kind of simplifies it. Unless it's below market value, he's not getting an extension. You can trust that he's going to be a guy that will be ready to play for you down the stretch in any given season. I'd offer him the 8/50 they gave Rafaela and not move off that number.

    If Mayer produces like Horner for his first 6 years, I'm calling it a slam dunk win and they shouldn't trade him. Just let him go to FA and have him become someone else's problem. Keep Story at SS and make sure there is a decent backup at 2b (Romero/Arias/other).

    They are clearly deeply suspicious of Devers and his friendship with in division rival Xander Bogaerts and that has closed them off to performing well! Devers also probably cuts in line at catering and sings poorly in the shower! It just makes too much dang sense when you think about it, even if it hasn't been reported on...
