  1. You'd be able to tell from views, but were a lot of people going to the frontpage to see the picks? I wasn't really seeing the updates on BlueSky where a lot of other things get pushed so wasn't really sure when new things would be posted.
  2. Romero is a good trade fit for some clubs. He is MIF with a lot of power. He doesn't have a clear path here and is closer to MLB (and Rule 5 issues) than others in the MIF pipeline. We're ok with dealing from prospects that are far away, but I think other teams aren't heavy into acquiring them unless it's as part of a package. There's just so much variance with those guys that's it's not worth it to teams that are actually trying to compete to give up MLB talent for them. I wonder how likely it is that they'd deal Perales considering his roster issues going into '26?
  3. And yet this is a team that had BLAKE SABOL as the third string catcher. We saw him play for the Boston Red Sox this season. He was the worst defensive catcher I have seen in a very long time. Worse than Alfaro. It made me feel bad for ever being upset at Josh Bard. That's how bad Sabol was at catcher. If Sabol had to catch Wakefield, it would have been the first MLB game to ever end by mercy rule.
  4. I think the Sox want to utilize the farm for trades and call ups. I think some posters don't see any value in the farm except for trades (SUSPECTS!). A big reason you want to have starters be young guys you call up from AAA is that they cost very little and/or have no long term commitment for 6-7 years. If the Sox could deal from the farm to get a guy like Ryan and keep the MLB team rolling for the next 5 years, they'd do it. I just don't know if they have the ponies on the farm at the moment. The farm is taking a bit of a step back now that Mayer and Anthony are graduating. It's why I saw a story this morning that the Sox are more likely to get a lower end guy like Heaney/Galen that would cost a lot less and have a lower ceiling.
  5. Devers would have been a bargain contract at that time. Agree 100% on Betts. That's when the org turned for me.
  6. Story has a longer history of production. Wong's '24 production was largely based on luck per TS reporting earlier this season.
  7. A New Haven style pizza place opened up down here a few years ago. The pizza was pretty good. It was always relatively busy, but nothing crazy. The front of house staff was just unable to deal with take out orders because they never ran a restaurant so they became a dine in only spot. I don't think they did so well with that model, because they've revamped again and tried to become an upscale date night place for boomers with a different menu. Leave the tri-state BS up North please.
  8. You know Yale is a problem when the people of New Haven can't even spell pizza correctly!
  9. Why do we have to assume that their analysis is correct?
  10. I wouldn't have Naylor as the #1 acquisition because I think his pull heavy profile would be a bad fit for Fenway. He doesn't have enough power to really rake in BOS. He'd probably be an upgrade over Toro, but I think Muncy or Santana could put up more numbers over the last few months of '25 in a stretch run. That's all you need them for anyway.
  11. You mentioned "since June 1st," but it obscures a two and a half week stretch where the offense was pretty rough. Also, hard to be completely sold on the current run as there is a certain stat that really stands out to me. 6/1 - 6/9: 1st in R, 2nd wRC+, 11th highest K%, 3 games with 10+ runs scored 6/10 - 6/27: 29th in R, 29th in wRC+, 2nd highest K% 1 game with 10+ runs scored 6/28 - 7/13: 1st in R, 1st in wRC+, 30th in K%, 7 games with 10+ runs scored I do agree about the parasocial relationship a few fans have developed with Duran. I think that word is overused, but seems to really fit what is going on between him and a segment of the fanbase. I'm not sure he gets traded before this deadline though. Only other remark, I'm not sure the Sox see Cespedes as a SS since 90% of his time in the field has been at 2b this season. When he's been at SS, it's been pretty rough.
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g275xddq70c&list=RDg275xddq70c&start_radio=1
  13. Sox also released Luis Ravelo. Third highest IFA bonus in '21. All field, no hit MIF.
  14. @Brock Beauchamp Penrod is not in the system anymore
  15. Again, maybe I'm just crying wolf. We'll have to see how it shakes out. I just hope they don't ignore the offensive side of things. They've put a lot of work into pitching dev, but still need to keep churning out hitters the way they've been able to over the years.
  16. Twins have stated they don't want to move Ryan as well. It may be a pipe dream.
  17. They are only "4 deep" because you are just listing guys whether they are decent prospects or not. It doesn't make it a good offensive farm system or deep. My main point was that after Garcia and Arias, there isn't a whole much to really write home about. The system is light on upper end talent. It will be evident in how the lower levels will start to look offensively in the near future. Only relying on IFA's is not a great idea. Just look at the top of the 24's IFA (Asencio, Carrasquel, Brito) signings and you'll see that it's not an exact science.
