  1. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/red-sox-release-justin-maxwell-to-sign-with-kbos-lotte-giants.html Justin Maxwell released. Was on AAA roster.
  2. Jacko, What's the deal with Eovaldi? He was just dumped from the rotation?
  3. TBSB, Yankees are still closer to last place than first place and below .500. Must be why you've doubled your trolling efforts!
  4. The players have the same responsibility here. They are at fault just as much as the team. TO THINK THE YANKEES WOULD PICK UP A SCOUNDREL THAT WOULD TRY TO BEND THE RULES LIKE THAT! ABSURD!
  5. Per MLBTR: However, Boston circumvented that limitation by “packaging” more premium prospects with lesser prospects; that is, paying $300K for multiple prospects that employ the same trainers/agents and then allowing the players’ representatives to divide the lion’s share of the collective sums to the top prospect of the bunch, with the lesser prospects receiving a smaller portion of the money. Basically, they cheated the system to overpay certain prospects. Ex. if they could only pay $300K for a prospect, they gave $600K to two prospects and had their trainers split it $500K to one prospect and $100K to the other prospect.
  6. This is a wonderful point.
  7. Of course the Yankees would grab a player that would cheat the system like that.
  8. https://sports.vice.com/en_us/article/throwback-thursday-the-end-of-whitey-herzog-and-a-way-of-baseball If you have a slow afternoon, here's a good read. I loved those 80's Cardinals teams.
  9. How is my response "one note?" It's more "one note" to state that we need to fix the pitching and not worry about anything else until the pitching is settled.
  10. He clearly has gender issues.
  11. @peteabe Hanley's last two weeks .413/.526/.761 with 10 BB, 8 K, 7 2B, 3 HR
  12. @alexspeier Joe Kelly threw a shutout inning for Lowell (0H, BB, K) in his first relief appearance. 95-96 mph fastball, complemented w/85-86 slider.
  13. @raysdjkitty Who is submitting #VoteLongo today?? Send me screenshots of your votes, & get a chance to win this Longo baseball!
  14. C'mon... We don't know that for 100% certain... Don't be hasty now! We must not rush to judgement.
  15. It is lovely this time of year in the Prairie of Prax...
  16. Do we really think Leon has broken out?
  17. Oh God no... In that case, if Miley stayed here, he'd probably have a sub 4 ERA since he was already familiar with the team and wouldn't have to adjust to a new ballpark and routine.
  18. Holt is the reason we signed Pablo? I've never seen this before.
  19. Do general managers typically come out and speak about every person that was involved in trade discussions? Maybe we need JH to storm the 98.5 studios again so we can get to the bottom of this. Where there's smoke...
  20. Everyone keep small animals away from TBSB until further notice!
  21. http://fullcount.weei.com/sports/boston/baseball/red-sox/2016/02/03/bradfo-show-clay-buchholz-thought-he-might-be-traded/ “I was actually on the phone with Wade Miley talking about the whole Seattle thing, because my name was involved in that, and obviously his name."
  22. With Wright, condensation is a big problem. If it's too hot, the sweat affects his grip. If it rains, he's useless. He was good last night. I believe Farrell has to be aware of when the tide turns on Wright and get him out there before he runs into trouble.
  23. I'm just not sure if it's worth it this year. I get it that it's Papi's last season and they want to give him a bunch of October at bats. However, I just don't think this rotation is good enough right now to rush anyone.
  24. I would say he has looked ok, but not what is expected of him. Going 8 innings and giving up 3 ER's is good against the Rangers. I can't complain about that. However, he's paid to go down to Tampa and shut down those AAAA hitters. He didn't and that kinda sucks. He's been a real mixed bag even if you ignore his contract. He was brought in to be the leader of the staff, not to be Mark Buehrle.
