Boston will not hire a single general manager to work under president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski, at least at this time, the club also added. Instead, Romero and fellow AGM Brian O’Halloran will combine to take the top two roles beneath Dombrowski in the organization’s baseball ops hierarchy.

    @alexspeier Indeed, multiple major league sources expect that the Sox aren't going to hire a GM.

    Yup, Cleveland's GM had no say in building the starting rotation or pitching staff!!!!

    I can fault Farrell for a lot of things throughout the year, but I think he was fine during the playoffs. The bats went silent and the starting pitching was bad. Even a great manager wouldn't have overcome that.

    There's a really good chance that if they retained Iggy, that they wouldn't have signed Moncada.

    The only way the trade could have come back questionable is if Iggy turned into Ozzie Smith or Omar Vizquel. He didn't.

    Well, you used career WRC+ and Carl had a lot of down years towards the end of his career. Maybe you should have done the 5 best seasons for each? Mo's WRC+ doesn't include his downward spiral with the Angels and Mets. His career WRC+ is 129 (same as Lynn's career total).

    That's weird since Bogey is 4th in WAR since the start of the 2014 season when he became a full time player.

    If the rotation is Ace?/Price/Porcello, I'm not sure you have to worry too much about Pomeranz and Wright/Buchholz filling out the rotation. That rotation should be good enough to guarantee a postseason run. That's why I would think about trading one of the B's to help get another TOTR guy in here.
