  1. If you hit line drives, your BBIP will be high. No surprise there...
  2. http://www.bostonmagazine.com/2012/07/38-studios-end-game/ If anyone doesn't remember or wants to learn more, check out the link. It's probably the best article concerning the 38 Studios nonsense.
  3. Not professionally.
  4. Well, he also guaranteed people things like mortgage payments and health insurance coverage but screwed them over without ever giving them a heads up. His lack of transparency was pretty much ill intent. When you are hiding your financial troubles and telling your employees that everything is ok, it's ill intent.
  5. Being worried about how a lineup switch would impact the team is a real concern. Some guys can't hit leadoff, but Betts can. Being worried about how a change create some supernatural rift in how the Red Sox play is not a real concern obviously.
  6. In Clay's case? Retirement? Moving to the NL East?
  7. I figured there has been enough talk of him this year that he should be given his own thread. When would you promote him to AA? Would you want to move him to a new position since he's "blocked?"
  8. Also, you can't beat the Mariners if they aren't on the schedule yet.
  9. The only team with more wins than the Red Sox is the Cubs. They are playing every club well.
  10. That's what happens when you pick up Clay's option.
  11. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx Fangraphs has projected the chance of the Sox winning the division at 71%. They also have an expected win total of 92. Sox and Cubs have the two highest WS %'s. Still a tabloid though...
  12. For those that don't live/work in RI, the government is really corrupt and horrible. There have been a few recent arrests of legislators, but it barely passes as news anymore because of how much money is wasted annually.
  13. This has as much to do with the incompetent and corrupt RI government as it does with Schill. I don't like Schill, but he gets too much of the blame pie for this. It's at least 50/50 in who was at fault for the tax burden. Curt gets 100% of the blame for all of the employee issues that happened.
  14. I'm on the hype train, but can we at least let him play in AA before determining if he's ready for MLB?
  15. A win is a win is a win is a win.
  16. I like Ross and Layne. They were two of the better guys last year.
  17. Odor punching Bautista is the greatest thing ever.
  18. "Betts’ numbers don’t lie: he’s a .449 career hitter when pulls it in play, per Baseball-Reference.com, with 20 home runs to left and seven up the middle. He’s never homered to the opposite field." http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/red_sox/clubhouse_insider/2016/05/forget_homering_mookie_betts_glad_to_just_pull_ball
  19. Uh, his prior year numbers were extraordinarily pull heavy I thought?
  20. Schilling in game 6 is the most overrated performance of all time imo.
  21. 2 QS, 1 ok start, 1 horrible start.
  22. The record proves it!
  23. I maintain that fans lecturing other fans is embarrassing. Plus, the whole "old fans remember" gag is just dumb. Someone as young as Thunder could be as well versed as some of the grandpas on here. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't make them wrong.
  24. Schill's impact is supremely overstated. He was also a nobody by 2007.
