    So much yardwork... Went to plant sale. Fixed up my shade garden. Lots of mowing and cleanup. Afternoon games are tough to watch when you have two young kids.

    I know that if a batter swings and misses a pitch and it hits him, it is a dead ball strike. However, what happens if he swings at the pitch and it hits his hand? Is his hand considered an extension of the bat and the ball is live, or is it a dead ball strike because it hit the body? Thanks, -- T. Albertina Layne: Well, let me ask you a question. If he puts a bat in his hand, and he drops it, is his hand going to drop with the bat or his hand going to stick to his body? So is his hand part of the bat? So, it's kind of common sense. If he gets hit in the hands, that's his body, if he gets hit in his bat, that's his bat. And if he swings, he doesn't go to first base when he gets hit.

    Ben doesn't get my dander up. I think he and Theo did a great job. They just whiffed on the major signings that were most likely pressured on them by ownership.

    If he hits his ceiling, his salary will be a huge bargain. No kidding... You could say that about almost anyone. That does not make him a rare commodity. He has never pitched a full season at a high level. It has never happened. The past rumors that were speculated were just as much BS as my previous post. He was healthy in 2014 when Ben unloaded Lester and Lackey. You know why Buchholz wasn't traded then? Because he flat out sucked that year. If they received any real interest, he would have been out the door.

    f*** yeah I'd trade Swihart, Moncada, Benintendi and Owens for Trout! I just don't see that as giving up enough to get it done. You'd have to replace Owens with Espinoza and add Devers to the mix for them to even consider it. They still probably say no. I think the Sox would have to trade Mookie, Benintendi, Espinoza, ERod and Moncada to get it done. The Angels are in LA (barely) and are in direct competition with the beloved Dodgers. It's a superstar market and it would be very hard for them to give up the greatest player of this generation.
