  1. Yeah, I wrote Teheran off because of the trade demands. My guess is the Sox bring one new starter in and call it a day.
  2. Honestly, it's still a good deal. It should be easy to replace pitchers like Miley, Buchholz or Kelly. Bottom of the rotation guys grow on trees. The only strength Miley had was durability. The Red Sox probably kept Kelly and Buchholz around for their upside, but we've already seen that those two also have a tremendous amount of downside. Blah. I'd still do the deal today.
  3. I've always been a big Rich Hill guy. They should have taken a flier on him this offseason. I know that he left because he wanted an opportunity to start, but the Sox should have just offered him that role. Hellickson would be a good get too. I don't see the Rays trading Odorizzi in the division, so I'm crossing him off the wish list. I think Pomeranz would be too expensive and moving him from the NL West to the AL East sounds like a disaster in the making. Ervin Santana? I don't want him on the payroll through 2018. It would cost too much to bring Gray in and he's had a pretty rough year so far. Am I forgetting anyone? I don't think Fernandez and Sale are available.
  4. I'm just glad that my nonsense got him to admit that Ortiz isn't a cheater and did nothing wrong. Guess we won't have to hear him talk about Ortiz's milkshakes or eyedrops anymore? You're welcome, Talksox!
  5. If you can't find a smoking gun, there's no way to bring charges against anyone I guess...
  6. I believe that we need one, but think we'd be better served grabbing the TOTR guy in the offseason. This is a flawed team that is both maddening and delightful to watch. I'm just going to enjoy the ride and hope that if they do trade away more top prospects that they bring the right guys in.
  7. Victorino, Napoli and Dempster were brought in as short term replacements to keep the team competitive while the players of tomorrow developed. It worked splendidly. He gets all the credit in the world for creating the 2013 roster.
  8. Buchholz said himself that he was involved in the trade talks.
  9. He outright said he's on the phone all day talking about pitching. If an opportunity comes around to improve part of your team, you jump on it. I'd rather have Hill on the team than Rutledge or some other AAAA guy. This team is also really young right now. The more veterans you can put on the bench, the better.
  10. Yup, one note. A billion dollar company like the Red Sox shouldn't be focused on more than one thing at a time and that one thing should be the thing I think needs fixing! They should make all the moves they feel necessary. If they have to make cursory moves before they can acquire starting pitching help, why be a dingus about it?
  11. The one thing I hope for is a TOTR guy coming over in a trade. Nothing else really matters to me.
  12. The bias here is "how do we know Clay was offered to Seattle" when there are multiple reports claiming so. Ignoring those reports just seems foolish to me.
  13. @pgammo Hill .308/349/'490/.839 (at Fenway)
  14. @kburke90 19 pitches, 10 strikes in the first inning for Michael Kopech. 18 of 19 pitches were fastballs sitting 98-100.
  15. @jonmorosi #RedSox have scouted Jeremy Hellickson recently; he is one of many rotation options they are considering, sources say. @MLBNetwork #Phillies
  16. @peteabe This deal not related to Shaw’s injury, by the way.
  17. @overthemonster Are people actually talking about a Pedroia trade? That's not happening. Why WOULD it?
  18. @redsoxstats Last year Bogaerts had a .372 BABIP and .326 expected BABIP. Most expected that to be more aligned in 2016. So far: .376 BABIP, .291 xBABIP
  19. @peteabe Dombrowski said the Sox did not see Wilkerson as a viable option. He must be dog s*** then.
  20. When there's enough circumstantial evidence, you can make a very educated guess as to what happened.
  21. So he never did anything wrong and isn't a cheater?
  22. Ben's legacy is definitely a mixed bag. Some great stuff. Some horrible stuff.
