  1. Holt is the reason we signed Pablo? I've never seen this before.
  2. Do general managers typically come out and speak about every person that was involved in trade discussions? Maybe we need JH to storm the 98.5 studios again so we can get to the bottom of this. Where there's smoke...
  3. Everyone keep small animals away from TBSB until further notice!
  4. http://fullcount.weei.com/sports/boston/baseball/red-sox/2016/02/03/bradfo-show-clay-buchholz-thought-he-might-be-traded/ “I was actually on the phone with Wade Miley talking about the whole Seattle thing, because my name was involved in that, and obviously his name."
  5. With Wright, condensation is a big problem. If it's too hot, the sweat affects his grip. If it rains, he's useless. He was good last night. I believe Farrell has to be aware of when the tide turns on Wright and get him out there before he runs into trouble.
  6. I'm just not sure if it's worth it this year. I get it that it's Papi's last season and they want to give him a bunch of October at bats. However, I just don't think this rotation is good enough right now to rush anyone.
  7. I would say he has looked ok, but not what is expected of him. Going 8 innings and giving up 3 ER's is good against the Rangers. I can't complain about that. However, he's paid to go down to Tampa and shut down those AAAA hitters. He didn't and that kinda sucks. He's been a real mixed bag even if you ignore his contract. He was brought in to be the leader of the staff, not to be Mark Buehrle.
  8. I'd never sue anyone. I'm an accountant. We hate when lawyers get involved.
  9. I agree as well. Like Eck said, you need to be able to produce no matter what the situation is. It's called being a professional. If Kimbrel has the freshest arm in the pen, you use it.
  10. There isn't a #2 currently on the team that we could count on in the playoffs.
  11. Almost everyone they've thrown out there has looked bad.
  12. It's definitely going to happen.
  13. I didn't make up anything in that post. OPPOSING VIEWPOINTS MAKE ME ANGRY. SMASH. ROAR. We get it dude...
  14. I'm not saying Brentz will be a long term option. I think you just ride the hot hand.
  15. As long as his ERA going forward is 4 or under, he still has a ton of value. Even an ERA of 4.5 wouldn't be bad since he can eat a ton of innings. Having a 3/4 of Porcello and Wright is fine with me.
  16. I like Benintendi and believe he can be the opening day LF in 2017. I just think the Sox should just let him finish AA in July and have him play in Pawtucket through the end of the season. He's already played 25 more professional games than he did last year. If they want to do a September call up and let him hang out with Papi for a few weeks, it's fine with me. I just don't know why they'd throw him into the fire today. If JBJ or Betts gets injured, I could be persuaded otherwise.
  17. The Rangers defense bailed him out. They were doing a Keystone Cops impersonation early in the game.
  18. Shaw has outperformed his AAA numbers?
  19. No no no, in the 2016 Talksox world, it only matters if you have 100% confirmation for an opposing viewpoint. Inferences and reasonable assertions no longer matter. If you're a Buchholz apologist, no amount of s***** pitching will change your worldview because good Buchholz is right around the corner. It was totally reasonable to re-sign Buchholz because there was a great chance that he'd be a #2 in this rotation. No matter how bad he sucks, he is still a valuable commodity because he may one day pitch well over a few starts and if he keeps sucking you can surely flip him to another team as part of a package to bring in a better pitcher.
  20. This is not unexpected.
  21. Well, if you want to mortgage your future, go for it. They could have traded Xander for Cole Hamels 2 years ago. Would you go back in time and trade Mookie?
  22. Great announcer, great stadium, great uniforms. Don't care about the team.
  23. Brentz has been surprisingly useful.
