  1. I don't think anyone wants to see Wright (a one pitch pitcher) in high leverage situations out of the pen. That sounds like a disaster to me.
  2. Wright has no options right now. We are all just spitballing. However, Farrell has stated that he would include Wright and Pomeranz in the rotation right now. Maybe that's why they were unconcerned about ERod's knee? Maybe they thought he'd begin the season in AAA anyway (2 options remaining)?
  3. If Devers is in Boston, it's due to both multiple injuries on the MLB roster and Devers turning into 2016 Beni/Moncada. If Devers has a typical year where it takes him a little while to get up to speed, I don't think he'll be anywhere close to an MLB roster this year.
  4. If an injury to a SP occurs, I don't want to have to hear about nonsense like "well, now we need to build Wright's arm strength back up so that he can start." I don't believe he has a high ceiling sitting in the bullpen, so I'd rather him just working on his stuff in AAA than being used in blowouts.
  5. I don't really want Wright or ERod hanging out in the pen. If Pomeranz is in the rotation, either Wright or ERod should be starting in AAA.
  6. IF Longhi gets a power stroke... And at 1B, Longhi requires a bigger bat. Even then, Devers won the Sox farm defensive player of the year award. I don't think they are really that close.
  7. Yes, there is a set draft day with bench spots. You play head to head for a week against another team. You get a point for each category you win for that entire week (hits, rbi, k's, WHIP, saves, etc). You set your lineup each day. Biggest difference to fantasy football is that you are looking at your lineup almost daily rather than once a week.
  8. Devers is clearly the future at 3B. Otherwise, they wouldn't have traded Moncada. He may be closer than we realize.
  9. Yes, I'll be in for this year again.
  10. Coffee should always be black, especially your average cup o' joe at the diner down the street. However, coffee at Dunkies can only be consumed with cream and sugar because their black coffee is gross. Honey Dew's black coffee is great though.
  11. Roasted coffee smells great. I understand the complaints from the people near the new Sriracha plant, but complaining about roasted coffee is like being annoyed at being close to the chocolate factory.
  12. If Devers can handle AA, I don't think AAA will be all that much more difficult. The prevailing theory is that AAA is just a stop over for guys you can put on an MLB squad once they've proven themselves in AA. The best players tend to skip AA or at least not have too many AB's.
  13. HanRam's problem wasn't that he was out of shape and unable to play anymore. HanRam's problem was that he was put in LF, where former teammates said he would fail. AGon suggested that he'd do great at 1B because he would be more focused. The Sox moved him to 1B in ST. There was lots of fretting on here about whether or not he could catch popups or if he'd even be adequate. Well, there was one amazing poster who stated from day one that he'd be better than everyone's expectations at 1B. I wonder whatever happened to him...
  14. Just google Pablo Sandoval weight and do an image search. There are a few skinny Pablo images and many on the beefier end of things as well.
  15. His weight fluctuated a lot when he was in SF. Here, it's just stayed at fat.
  16. I think the fans and media gave him the benefit of the doubt in 2015 when he showed up a fatty fatty fat fat. After being the worst FT 3b in MLB in 2015 AND Farrell stating that he looked great in the offseason left a lot of people disappointed in what they saw come Spring Training time.
  17. I want him to be an amazing 4th OF who gets enough value back that we can dump him on somebody else.
  18. It worked out ok sometimes, not always. It didn't work out in 2015. His OPS has decreased every year since 2011. I think that's partially due to him getting older and carrying all of that weight. From Baseball Ref: Height: 5' 11", Weight: 255 lb.
  19. I try not to get bothered by any of it. The vast majority of guys don't always suck.
  20. That's very unrealistic, imo. Not being able to critique someone if you don't know them personally. Example: Pablo came into camp last year out of shape. There is no question about it. Is it wrong for someone to think Pablo is probably lazy and doesn't care enough to be physically fit? If he was a truck driver, no one would care about his eating habits. However, as a professional who is paid by fanatics like us (NESN viewership, merch, tickets, etc.), showing up extremely out of shape is almost a slap in the face to some fans. If he doesn't show up at his best, why should they give him the benefit of the doubt because they don't know him personally?
  21. I'm just trying to slowly creep to the next pokestop. Go around me.
  22. Everyone has knee-jerk reactions to whatever they have just seen whether it's on the field performance or a calculation made by fangraphs. It's human nature to get annoyed by small sample sized things. If I hit 5 straight lights going to work, I'll probably get frustrated and have a knee-jerk reaction.
  23. Romo closed out a World Series and has 84 career saves. Joe Smith was the 8th inning guy for the Angels last year and he filled in well when Street was out. Paplebon's attitude is worse than his arm.
