  1. I don't want to jerk him around anymore. Leave him in the pen and see if he can have a stretch of success longer than 2 months.
  2. Yup, this has what Farrell has hinted at all offseason.
  3. Chris Young. The majority of those guys (Beckett, Carpenter) never regain their control.
  4. Part of the problem is that most posters don't look in this forum. You may have a better chance drumming up interest in other threads.
  5. Tyson Ross had surgery in October. I wouldn't sign anyone with TOC.
  6. For Smith, some are saying he should be ready by opening day. DD is holding off on announcing anything like that and hinted it might not be that close.
  7. When did Ross have surgery?
  8. Ross is the most underrated player on this team.
  9. Small sample size
  10. I'd be more comfortable with a mediocre Taz than Hembree, Kelly and Abad.
  11. Rotation: Sale Porcello Price ERod/Pom Wright The pen should be well rested this year.
  12. They did great mainly due to Price and Porcello since they both put up a ton of innings. After that, it was three days in a row of hurry up and get the bullpen ready.
  13. http://boston.locals.baseballprospectus.com/2017/01/06/roster-recap-no-one-knows-what-to-do-with-drew-pomeranz/ Not sure if anyone had read this article yet, but it's a good glimpse of how the Pomeranz is playing out.
  14. I agree. Not sure why Soxprospects has Ockimey ranked higher than Longhi.
  15. My chakras will be in perfect alignment this year. You better hope you are in a different division than me.
  16. I think they want to go with an all LHP rotation if possible so Pom will stick around a bit longer. They just need to move Porcello (who is a bum and could never have an ERA below 4.50).
  17. Even though other posters are worried about using up cap space, I agree with you. This pen lost Koji, Tax, Buchholz AND Ziegler and only grabbed one new guy. They are really rolling the dice that Hembree, Abad and Kelly will provide a lot of value.
  18. Well, I hope you have a wonderful hobby that helps to alleviate any stress in your life. Fortunately, I enjoy fantasy baseball and it doesn't stress me out.
  19. My pitching crapped out in the playoffs. I didn't throw any chairs and blame small sample sizes and randomness like Billy Beane though. It was because my chakras were not aligned.
  20. The more weight you lose, the more prominent your cauliflower ear becomes. It's strictly to scare the other opponents and for leverage to a lesser extent (i.e. the cauliflower ear can act as a lever).
  21. I expect him to be on the roster in 2018. All I've ever said was that if that I'd put him in AAA for a quick promotion to Boston IF there was a need due to injury AND he was exceeding his previous performance (i.e. playing like Beni or Moncada in AA).
  22. Please, it's not 2016 anymore. Let's bury the dead already. This one stings too much.
  23. Wright has a poor track record of pitching out of the pen. http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?playerid=8185&position=P&season=0&split=8.2 He is far more consistent when starting. http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?playerid=8185&position=P&season=0&split=8.1
  24. The following conditions in which Wright is useless: 1. too humid 2. a chance of rain 3. his one pitch isn't working I feel like Wright is perfectly fine as a #5, but using him multiple times a week in high leverage situations isn't the best fit for him. Pom AND Wright will both be in the rotation. Farrell has confirmed this.
  25. Kimmi, I'd be willing to cover half of your league fees if you joined.
